Chuc007 No. 2 Share Posted July 15 Couldn't agree more. It doesn't look like we are done either for 2025. Let us not forget Gatlin Bair for 2026. He should be through with his mission and be ready to enroll by then. Hope our newest ducks don't scare him off. He will be the fastest guy on the team and that is saying something. He was a 5 star. The last guy that had that Olympic speed out of high school( 10.1 100 meters) was drafted by the Rams. I believe it was Latin Berry. I remember sitting right square in the middle in the middle of Forty Niner honorees Y. A. Tittle , Bob Saint Clair and others in Kesar Stadium when I cheered loudly for the Rams and predicted he would run the opening kickoff back for the second half. He did. The Rams s won beating Joe Montana et al. I was escorted out at the end of the game by the police for protection. HappyToBeADuck No. 3 Share Posted July 15 Thanks for the article Alex and i agree about the opportunity for OBD's to carry the wide receiver u moniker. Who will step up in the. WR group in 2024 will depend on a few things in my opinion. This opinion assumes that the Duck QB gets the same level of protection that Bo received the last 2 seasons! It will be difficult for the defenses to cover all the receivers in one on one situations. How well does DG read the D and then see the field, to find and hit the open receiver. Will DG be patient and stay in the pocket to let the play unfold? He has certainly proved he can scramble and be accurate on the run. Will DG develop a connection with 1 or more receivers as the season wears on? Is a QB/WR connection like Bo had with Tez possible? Lots of questions to answer, the best part is that the talent will be on the field to make this happen. This Duck team, with this talent on offense, should be averaging plus 50 points per game when tOSU Buckeyes come to Autzen...... Haywarduck Moderator No. 4 Share Posted July 15 Great article and I have always wondered why we didn't develop, recruit at a higher level with the offense and qb production we have had over the years. Don't get me wrong, I love all the wideouts we have had, but they weren't next level talents. Next level talents can make a qb, muck like Johnny football wasn't that great, but his receivers made it look that way. A receiver who can go up and win the 50/50 ball 90% of the time makes a qb look Heisman like. My only caution is this is the same thinking I had back when Flowe and Sewell were recruited. Were we headed to be LB U? They didn't pan out, although are defense continues to improve under Lanning. The Oregon receiver bench is like looking at a very impressive menu at a restaurant. This 2024 WR depth is very close to what we had the last time we went to the 'Natty in 2014. The two 2024 recruits could make some noise in this line-up as well. Keep it going Adams/Lanning I believe the last Oregon receiver with Olympic speed may have been Devon Allen. He’ll be pursuing gold next week in the 110 Meter High Hurdles.
