UNLIMITED SCHOLARSHIPS

This will be interesting.

In the past with the 105 football limit, schools stacked their rosters.  Now a days, I think kids will want "PT Baby" and higher rated kids will not be in dire straits and will go to where they can play versus collecting a varsity letter aka free schooling, money for nothing and chicks for free.

Unlimited scholarships is what led to "Blue Bloods" becoming and staying "Blue Bloods". The 85 scholarship limit brought more parity to college football.

Today with NIL, it is possible for a team to get over the limit by simply paying enough NIL to cover the tuition plus. That is a little more acceptable to me as there is no such thing as unlimited NIL money.

Back in the day of network TV broadcasting, only the top college football teams were featured on TV. With the proliferation of cable and steaming, every program of note will have a chance to be featured resulting in exposure for the players (for family and NFL scouts).

Therefore, I do not expect the same roster stacking as before. You don’t need to got to Alabama, Notre Dame, USC, et al to get exposure to have a shot at the NFL.

Skies are extremely cloudy in those two towns at best.

Football, Baseball, and many other sports will see scholarship limits increase. Football roster sizes will be cut.

The NCAA is shifting its policies and adding to its current scholarship allowances for Division-1 athletics departments.

There will be unexpected 'fallout' if the House settlement is approved.

Even if approved, the House Settlement leaves lots of questions to answer.

In the wake of a settlement in the House, Hubbard and Carter cases, the courts now hold significant oversight over what college sports will look like in the future.

Football rosters are capped at 105 players but more than 85 football scholarships are allowed. Baseball, unlimited scholarships.

Baseball is now going to be a much more expensive sport to the AD budget, but I believe they have earned it under Coach Waz.  Not many other Oregon sports have finished No. 12 in the nation the last two years as Oregon Baseball has using D1 Baseball rankings.

We have a much better chance now of picking up some players who can help us, especially from the stars at smaller conferences whose schools may not be able to afford a full-ride scholarship as Oregon can.

It is GREAT news!

Even if House is settled, there will still be lots of worms left in the can.
