OregonDucks No. 1 Share Posted October 10 Terrance Ferguson has been a part of some great offenses over the years and says that this year’s Oregon offense is the “best offense I've been a part of" (at the end of the interview). We have weapons everywhere and it’s like playing a video game when they are clicking. The stats to date don’t back it up but perhaps he is seeing what they are capable of in practice, behind closed doors, and, hopefully, we’ll all see more starting on Saturday against a really good Ohio State defense? Obviously, the first 2 1/2 games were working out the kinks on the offensive line. The last couple of games Oregon took the foot off the gas in the second half but the offense could have scored more if not for turnovers in the red zone. This offense has a lot more potential than it has shown to date.
David Marsh No. 2 Share Posted October 10 Clean up some errors and this offense will be rolling to the next level. I don't think Gabriel is as good as Nix. At least so far.
Babyjesus615 No. 3 Share Posted October 10 (edited) If the offensive line continues to come together like they have been, and Gabriel takes better care of the ball, this offense is lethal. Get Jordan James over 125 yards on the ground Saturday and I really like our chances. Between his strong running and DG's legs, the passing attack could be killer when the time comes. Not really fair to compare him with last year's Bo who was 2 years into this offense. That being said, because of the OL issues in the 1st couple weeks this season I think we can reasonably assume that Gabriel is also a couple weeks behind getting fully comfortable with the offense and building chemistry with his receivers. I hope he cleans up his red zone issues by this Saturday! 1

I'd also like it if Bucky Irving was in the backfield. If Stewart starts getting used more, the passing attack could be the best.
Jon Joseph Moderator No. 6 Share Posted October 10 Baby J, 125 yards? I hope it happens my friend but the tOSU D shut down Iowa's Kaleb Johnson, the No. 2 rusher in the B1G, until giving up a meaningless 4th Q TD. Johnson was held under 100 yards for the 1st time this season.

Oregon will have to pass downfield to open up the running game and short pass/screen game, IMHO. We’ll see if DG is able to hit on a couple of downfield throws. As we have discussed on other threads, I hope that Coach Stein opens up the playbook and that T. Ferg. and E. Stew. are a bigger part of the offense against Ohio State.
DanLduck No. 8 Share Posted October 10 Perhaps Fergie is influenced by the fact Oregon runs so many 2 and 3 tightend sets. The offense is always more fun if your on the field playing. But I sure hope we score in bunches this week!

The folks in Vegas do not believe this will be a high-scoring game. Two good defenses and if 'the experts' are right, both teams will run the ball and take time off of the clock.
