They seem to be arguing that two or three of the MW+ teams could make the playoffs.... Seemingly based off having fewer losses than power 4 programs currently in front of them. Also... First round home games at Boise State or UNLV? That seems highly unlikely. Part of the argument is that the 5 conference champions get auto ranked 1-5.
