NJDuck Moderator No. 2 Share Posted October 20 Don't underestimate their backup QB. He played really well in the second half of the game.
David Marsh No. 3 Share Posted October 20 Indiana is a scary team. Not going to lie. The haven't played a ranked team yet and they haven't had that difficult of a schedule. But we'll find out just what this team is made of soon enough. Curt Cignetti is an amazing head coach and turned that program around on a dime. This is what Colorado expected when they hired Dieon Sanders. Next to Vanderbilt they are definitely one of the most surprising teams this year. HDuck No. 4 Share Posted October 20 Indiana led 28-7 at the half. The starting QB did not play in the second half. Final score 56-7 vs Nebraska. Cignetti's first season at Indiana, coming over from James Madison. 13 players from JMU came over, and 8 of them are starting for Indiana. 2 more are on the two-deep. 1 more is the designated kick returner. James Madison was a perennial FCS power. Those 13 players could bring the expectations, playbook lingo, etc. The approach seems to be working better for Cignetti than it did Coach Prime. 1
Nevada Dawg No. 5 Share Posted October 21 Cignetti is the better coach IMHO. His teams are far more fundamentally sound than Prime's. I really don't expect Prime to stay around college football for long--as his boys muster out. we'll see if the fire still burns. After all, he could easily make a living continuing to yuck it up with Saban on all the corny AFLAC commercials. 2

He was Saban's recruiting coordinator and took a 60% pay cut when he became the head coach at NAIA Indiana University—Purdue, IUP. The man has never had a losing season. Twice when picked to finish next to last in a conference, as was the case this season, his team won the conference title. 1
Jon Joseph Moderator No. 7 Share Posted October 21 Indiana backup QB, Tayven Jackson is a "Pretty Good Athlete." After starting QB Kurtis Rourke left the Nebraska game with an injury Jackson went 7 for 8 passing for 91 yards with 2 TDs. Jackson transferred to Indiana from Tennessee in 2023 BC, Before Cignetti. In 2021, Jackson led his football team, 4A (the top tier in Indiana High School sports) Cedar Creek High School, Greenwood, Indiana, (a suburb 15 miles south of Indianapolis) to back-to-back state championships. He was named to the Indiana All-State 1st team. In 2021, the 6'4" 212 lbs. Jackson helped his Cedar Creek basketball team win the Indiana 4A basketball state championship. Holy Hoosiers, this is a Huge Deal in Indiana. Jackson's Brother, Trace Jackson-Davis, is a forward on the Hoosiers basketball team and was All-Big Ten in 2023/24. Closer to Puddles Nest, the brothers' Dad, Ray Jackson, played cornerback for Wazzu. Indiana and Army are the only two playoff-contending teams not to trail in a game all season. Like Cal this season, Indiana football and Bloomington will host College GameDay on Saturday for the first time. Despite Rourke missing the game, my LV friends and I have a wager down on the Hoosiers -6.5 vs. UWho. Iowa trucked U Dub and Indiana is a far better team than the Frustrated Fisches.
The Kamikaze Kid Moderator No. 8 Share Posted October 21 Cig may be the next Lanning. Too bad for SUC that they're up to their eyeballs in a 70 mil buyout for Riley.

DuckFan93 No. 10 Share Posted October 21 Indiana probably won't lose until they play tOSU. So the winner of that game goes to B1G Championship, assuming tOSU survives PennSt?
HDuck No. 11 Share Posted October 21 Unless it has been changed, or gets changed, Cignetti's current buyout after Dec. 1 this season is $6 million. That wouldn't even make some programs blink if they want to go after him.
