Noah Whittington absolutely hit-sticking the poor Illinois defender who was in the wrong place has gone absolutely viral.

One of the benefits of that is all of the camera angles that captured the play.

What is incredible about this shot is that Whittington is actually looking right at the defender and adjusts his path to take on the defender and not try to spin or juke.

The poor Illinois defender had zero chance to evaluate his life choices!

Physicality anyone?

This is going to lift his confidence at running inside, and this can give James more breaks, and help the team.  Pretty cool...

An interesting note about this play was how many Illinois fans were calling for "offensive targeting".

Wow, we are hearing some bizarre stuff from the fans of our new conference! For as old as the Conference is, you’d think they would not be surprised by this stuff?

A different culture, indeed!

Well he was completely defenseless.

"Oregon is all finesse"---NOT!

Could this play be a variation of Bill Walton's "No TRUCK STOPS here!" ??

One of the things I noticed (you will want to look again), is the look in the eyes of the ref after the play is over. He keeps looking at Whit as he heads out of the back of the endzone. His eyes looked like they were saying, "Who IS this guy??"

It is probably only a matter of time before the ncaa puts in that rule.

So true!  Talk about given in to Ohio State's tantrums.  Again, what is with the Big Ten's refs?  Are you sure these refs aren't really Pac 12's rejects? 🤨

Some of them are... :

Pac-12 Conference has seen most of its referees depart this offseason.

"Four referees have resigned and a fifth, Mike Mothershed, retired after a 28-year run in the conference. Referees Chris Coyte, Francisco Villar, and Steve Strimling have been hired by the Big Ten Conference. Joining them in the Big Ten is center judge Jim Wharrie, who worked at least 3 games last season as referee... "

Amid the Pac-12's dissolution, it's easy to overlook those who proudly carry the conference's lasting legacies

"The Big Ten has been the most active conference in this space. It added a total of 16 Pac-12 officials – both on-field and instant replay – since the end of the 2022 season. Six of them moved over before the 2023 season once USC and UCLA announced they were leaving the Pac-12. Ten more have matriculated to the Big Ten for the upcoming season."

I wondered how this would effect (infect) the new home of OBD when I first heard this was the case.
