In a battle between the top two high school football teams, No. 1 Mater Dei vs. No. 2 St. John Bosco, Oregon Ducks linebacker commit Nasir Wyatt came up big in Mater Dei's 59-14 win. Wyatt revealed why he chose Dan Lanning and Oregon over USC.

"It's just (coach) Dan (Lanning) and (defensive coordinator) Tosh (Lupoi) and the entire community up there and what they're building," Wyatt said. "It shows they're doing something right because they're No. 1 in the country."

Oregon has been working on the pipeline from South Cali for decades and the Trojans have tried to patch, but I guess they used Duckt tape and it didn't work.

USC hired a head coach that does not like people.......does that sound like someone who can recruit successfully. or can build a good program.

From the Duck's point of view, hopefully it will take the boneheads at least two more years to figure it out. While they blame it on cash, the portal. tactics....etc.

USC hired a coach that can score 40+ in the no D big 12 at a school that recruits itself. Now SUC is learning what that means in a BIG new world.

Because Oregon plays defense?

Brother NJ, A Bit OT But Trojans Wire with an Article - 'Why USC SUC's in 2024.'

The USC defense hasn’t maxed out this season, but it has an excuse with so many key injuries. The offense has had few injuries but still hasn’t delivered in crunch time.

Two days before the game in Seattle. With friends like these ... 😁

Caleb Williams hid a lot of the Trojan's offensive line problems. If he had a good defense they would have made the playoff one of those years.

Miller Moss isn't a bad quarterback, but he isn't Williams. He can't hide the problems of USC's offensive line and they don't seem to have the world beaters at receiver this year either. The USC run game this year actually looks better than it has for the past couple of years.

But this USC team is frankly built for the Big 12. They would probably be No. 2 or 3 in the Pac-12 this year in truth. They might get edged out by Colorado only because I think Sanders is a better QB than Moss and that game would be a shootout.
