What is the Truth about Oregon Season Tickets?

Recommended Posts

I have heard two stories about season tickets-

1-tOSU fans bought them just for the Oregon game

2-A friend of mine who has had season tickets for over 30 years says its not true about tOSU fans because there has been a waiting list duck season tickets for many year.

Does anyone have more insight?

No true knowledge here, but my WAG. We had declining numbers of season ticket renewals that only turned around in 2023, thus the "waiting list" notion is mistaken, I believe.

It sure looks like a ton of Ohio State fans did buy season tickets, but the surprise is how they are not selling the other games to Oregon fans?  It looked like a ton of empty seats on TV..

Was at the Illinois game and shortly after kickoff I didn't see many empty seats in person.

However, early fourth quarter the student sections looked like lemmings going over a wall.

Purely anecdotal, but when the Buckeyes were in town, I met a handful of their fans who said they bought season tickets and were confident that they were going to make $ by selling the tickets to the other game.

I think you need to make a deposit in advance to obtain new season tickets. Season ticket renewal period is early every year, and they never know who will, or will not renew, until about April.

Whether your order is filled is based upon how many seats you request, and the number of deposits in front of you for that year. Obtaining two seats is much easier than four, or more. There are years where availability is scarce.

I think the cristball (no O) years there was a trend of higher non-renewals.

I believe your friend was mistaken with the way it works, it is not really a waiting list.

Sounds like they had it all figured out, a real win, win!

In 1976 I found a $100.00 and bought a pair of season tickets with it.
