Solar No. 1 Share Posted November 1, 2024 Quote from a comment on the maize and brew website: We all love Michigan, but basically the stadium is like %90 standing room only. You can barely sit without spooning the person in front of you unless you are a small child. That sounds a bit rough.
Drake Moderator No. 2 Share Posted November 1, 2024 Sounds like a cheap seat on a discount airline. Seems to me they increased the number of seats years ago because someone had built a stadium with more capacity. Rather than make the stadium larger, maybe they just moved the seats closer together to get a few more rows.
Desert Duck No. 3 Share Posted November 1, 2024 We had planned on going, but then some life-stuff happened instead. I will say that if you get a chance to go to the Wisconsin game, do it. I went with a couple of friends in 2000 when Joey was our QB and we had a great time. However, it was early September and the weather was amazing. Certainly, mid-November might be a very different story. But Wisconsin puts on a great game, the stadium is excellent, and their fans were a lot of fun. Tandaian No. 5 Share Posted November 1, 2024 All Michigan has is benches for seating. Zero individual seating. I can't imagine the 50 yard line group likes that.

Jon Joseph Moderator No. 7 Share Posted November 1, 2024 I have been in Michigan Stadium for six games. Three vs Notre Dame, one versus FSU when Prime was playing for Bobby Bowden, and Elvis (Grbac) was the QB for the Wolverines. One game vs.Penn State, and the Kordell Stewart Hail Mary game when my daughter was a Junior at CU. If you haven't been to the Big House, from the outside you wonder how 100K+ people could fit into this? Then after wandering through thousands of tailgaters, you enter and see that two-thirds of the stadium is below ground. Is it comfortable? No. Does it reek of tradition? Yes. Stay in your seat at half time, the band puts on a terrific show. It's worth a trip. Ann Arbor is a great college town with lots of fun places to wine and dine. (OK, it's more brewski than wine. )
