Charles Fischer Administrator No. 1 Share Posted November 11 "Play new players against Oregon, since the starters are doing nothing. The Oregon game is already lost." "I see a 16-18 point spread, pray for Packers weather from yesterday, and 10 degrees colder shows up. Wisconsin weather at this time of year, the cold and sleet would help Wisconsin keep it closer." ------------------------------------- Thoughts on Oregon; It's a Brutal Matchup Given... Unlike Bama (pass D) and Penn State, (lack of WR playmakers) Oregon has no real weakness. Maryland really played well, and save a fluky 50 yard fumble return, and one REALLY bad no overturn on the foot out of bounds TD when Oregon scored to end the first half, Maryland was going to be in this late. 1. 38 offensive plays in first half with many chain moving plays for the Terps 2. WR's got consistently open vs Oregon coverages (mostly man) 3. Until they got gassed late, Maryland run defense was very good most of the game. If QB Locke can get ball to green early (Badgers needs him back for intermediate tosses/outs) and, avoids his weekly brain fart picks, Wisconsin can stay in this but again, when you see a 6'6 290 LB guy running a fake punt downfield for 30 yards, and the lateral speed Oregon has on defense, you must play damn near perfect given the Oregon QB (Reminds me of a faster Lefty drew Brees type when he was at Purdue. He is accurate, has quick release and can hurt you with his feet) is so damn good. I hope I am wrong here but if it does not rain, 41-23 Oregon. Too much talent, and great line play vs a team still reeling from years of poor recruiting at DL, TE, TB, QB etc. If it does rain, I can see ball security issues (closer score in the 27-20 range) as Oregon runs so many plays that rely on matching their skill speed vs a team's Lbs /nickel types/Db depth (much like OSU foes many weeks), those throws won't be nearly as accurate, or well timed in wet weather. 1 Mr. FishDuck

I thought Oregon's thing was that it rained ceaselessly here all year round. So all of the sudden we're bad at rain? Also... Basically what I'm taking from this is .. pray Oregon plays badly. Oregon slept walked through Maryland. I highly doubt they'll be sleeping in a road trip to Wisconsin. 1
JabbaNoBargain No. 4 Share Posted November 11 (edited) Ah the if game! I’ll play. OBD only won by 21 against the Terps, but it would have been at least 31 if we didn’t rough the punter to open the game. Case closed! "I got the spam beat out of me in Wisconsin." If Dan can go 8-0 with a win over Ohio State and on the road at Michigan, he will be the only coach in the P4 to do so in 2024. The fact that the punter barely got the punt off made him a kicker rather than just a guy who dropped the football. I'm not sure there is much the coaches will say about that one because the hit came in a fraction of a second after the punt got off. I feel the only thing the defender could have done differently was not dice into a tackle and let him punt the ball. Which defeats the whole point of getting pressure on the punter. I think the coaches look back at that one and just say ... Bad luck is what it is. Easier to do in a win for sure. 1

The weather, rain shouldn't be a problem on the Ducks' passing game. The Badgers defense is No.91 against the run this season. This could be old school Big 10 football for the Ducks, plan your score prediction accordingly, and maybe Charles should swap passing yards with time of possession?
