The Nittany Lion is the eastern mountain lion mascot of the athletic teams of the Pennsylvania State University, known as the Penn State Nittany Lions. Created in 1907, the "Nittany" forename refers to the local Mount Nittany, which overlooks the university.
HappyToBeADuck No. 5 Share Posted December 1 PSU seemed to find their offense the last few games of the regular season. Albeit against weaker teams. At home the Niitany Lions could only muster 13 points against osu2. Their D held the Buckeyes to 20 or 21. So they can bring it on D. OBD's will be the most complete team PSU will have faced this season. They do not have the secondary speed to hold down the Ducks. They will need to hold the Duck O to under 20 points to win the game. OBD's Defense will be the baddest team the PSU offense will face in 2024. And I mean the baddest. The Ducks will stuff the run and without a WR who can take the top off the Ducks secondary, PSU will struggle for points. The Ducks can only beat themselves. Play clean and misyake free and OBD's will win by 17 plus. Go Ducks....bring hone the BIG CCG trophy. 1 2

Thomallister1291 No. 8 Share Posted December 1 A nittany lion is supposedly just a cougar. Anyways, game-wise, I hope we do have a chance to stop Penn State's offense and destroy their defensive line, btw I know that opponent comparison is kinda dumb but we literally beat Ohio State, a team which exposed PSU at Beaver Stadium. So I'm certain we will win.

David Marsh No. 10 Share Posted December 1 If the Oregon defense plays like they have... Oh boy. Penn State is in for a bad day. Their offense is built on the B1G meta. Run the ball and control the line of scrimmage. Running the ball effectively will set up the passing game for some shots. But running the ball is the central point of the offense. Just need to keep doing what we've been doing.

MikeJ No. 12 Share Posted December 2 They have a great defense. Take a look at points allowed vs our common opponents. But they haven't faced an opponent as complete as Oregon (except possibly in the game they lost).
DrJacksPlaidPants Moderator No. 13 Share Posted December 2 The Nittany Lions is what most people would call a cougar, puma or a mountain lion. Unless they’re from Florida. Then it’s called a panther.
TheRunningDuck No. 14 Share Posted December 2 I went to the Rose Bowl against them and their fans were the most arrogant I have seen. Worse than UW, tOSU and Oklahoma.
mikethehiker No. 15 Share Posted December 2 I don't think Penn St. has the tools to follow an Ohio St. blueprint against the Ducks. I think they will try to improve on the Wisconsin blueprint and be very patient with the running game. Very patient. Oregon cannot get off to a slow start on offense, because Penn St. may start to get traction on offense and they have much better talent than Wisconsin. If Penn St. and their near home field crowd smell blood in the water against the #1 team, it could be a very dangerous game for OBD. It's one thing to have an opponent on your calendar for weeks and months ahead of time. It will be an interesting challenge for both coaching staffs to have their teams prepared and a harbinger for making quick adjustments in the playoff. Offense MUST execute early and FINISH drives.
David Marsh No. 16 Share Posted December 2 Predictions already rolling in for Penn State to win this one. Feels normal for the year. Oregon looked far more put together this last game after the bye week. Let's see how that added rest continues to pay off.

Uhhhh, the Paul "Fawn"baum SEC purists 'gotta cover our investment", analytics. You know...completely unbiased perceptions. Again, I hope Every SEC team that gets "put" into the playoffs gets "bounced" in the first rounds, however Unlikely that may be. Just care about OBD being there, on top, in the end! 30Duck Author Moderator No. 20 Share Posted December 2 After Oregon beats Penn State to win the conference championship and get a banner! Solar No. 21 Share Posted December 2 ROC Boys on you tube covered the matchup well. Our OL needs to play lights out mistake free ball, keeping us from getting behind the sticks, and giving Gabriel time to throw. That will be what allows us to win comfortably. We are pretty evenly match everywhere except cornerback and WR, where we have an advantage with both.
