I won't automatically get mad if Alabama gets in, depends on who's bumped.

They will make it happen. Bama is a lock. There is absolutely zero chance that only three SEC teams will be in the playoffs.

Suddenly the objective has changed to "make the Playoff," as opposed to making sure that every team that has a legit chance of winning the 'Natty is in the Playoff.  Any team beaten 24-3 by an unranked team late in the season is NOT a serious option to win the NC, IMHO.

They not only got killed 24-3 by an unranked team, they quit. That alone should get them bumped out of the top 25. I would have less of a problem with South Carolina being in the top 12. At least the Gamecocks are hungry and have steadily improved.

Agree with this.  It should have been South Carolina.  While Alabama was busy losing to a 2-6 conference team, South Carolina has been on a roll since October, beating three ranked teams in the process.

Don't know about this, my friend. Bama, Ole Miss, and South Carolina are 9-3. The Gamecocks were blown out at home by Ole Miss and lost to Bama. South Carolina was the PO Gamecock Come Lately but IMO they do not have the resume to jump Ole Miss or Bama.

Louisville defeated Clemson in Clemson far more emphatically than did So. Carolina. Ditto Georgia in the game played in Atlanta.

USC East was hosed by the refs vs. LSU and had nice wins at 6-6 Oklahoma and vs. 8-4 A+M, but Wofford, Akron, and Old Dominion don't move the needle and USC should not jump over teams with the same record it lost to.

You know what could have helped USC's cause, a 9th conference game vs Bama but the loss to Ole Miss would still be on the resume.

We'll see if SC blows out a B1G team in its bowl game.

3/2/1 Format? In 2026 I think we will see 4 B1G/ 4 SEC/ 2 ACC/ 2 B12/ 1 G5/ and 3 AL.

I didnt think it was possible but I think these 3 loss SEC teams are whining more than Mario & Miami.

Sorry IMHO any team that plays Mercer, loses to Oklahoma, and doesn’t get to their conference championship game does not deserve a playoff bid…

I respect that opinion.  I think for me, it is more about who is trending in the right direction and who can compete right now.

Bama has been struggling and couldn’t even score against TD against a team with 2 conference wins.

South Carolina has won 6 straight games down the stretch.  Three of those games were against Top 25 teams in the month of November and may include a CCG winner if Clemson beats SMU.

For me, one team is trending up, while the others (Miami, Bama, and Ole Miss) are trending down.  I would have liked to see South Carolina get rewarded for their improvement on the field over the past 2 months.

On the Mountain West CCG Pregame show, Alabama Heisman winner spouted out all the Alabama blather, but USC Heisman winner, Matt Leinart made SMU's case. Fight On, Matt

When it comes down to it SMU hasn't played Alabama and all the musings of the pundits about well Alabama played the tougher schedule are irrelevant when you lose like they have.

SMU getting penalized for playing another game and a total of two more conference games than Alabama should count for something. The only way we'll know if SMU is worthy is by putting them in the playoffs and letting them prove it. We already know Alabama isn't worthy.
