Going through the comments at a Husky site, and this one stuck out

Duhks - winning an NC in football to finally match the Huskies...

Seriously, your championship was a split between newspaper polls!

And they're still so proud of 'winning' half of a poll.

Auburn and Oregon would have also been a split poll that year with both going undefeated and playing in two different bowl games. I have never ever once wished for that pathetic alternate scenario.

And what happened the next year after this mythical championship?

The cheating was found, and conference and NCAA penalties ensued.  Had it been the BCS or Playoff era, the "half-championship" would have been taken away.  But polls are not changed years later.

What kind of low-life would continue to celebrate a championship where it was not alleged, but proven cheating?

I will!

Auburn and Mizzu should play in that bowl.

Sure they're in the same conference but Colorado and BYU are in the Alamo Bowl and they're in the same conference.

"They're GRrrrrrr8!"

As I said in another post....

If this were 1991, the 2024-25 Oregon Ducks football team would have already been crowned the unanimous National Champions. We are 13-0 and have already won the traditional Rose Bowl match-up in the B1G Conference Championship Game against Penn State (we also beat Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin this year for good measure).

What Oregon (or any other team) has to do this year to win the National Championship is 1,000x harder than what Washington had to do to win their share of a national championship.

With former Duck Tyler Shough the QB at Louisville, married to a former Duck soccer player who grew up in Eugene, to have to pick between the Ducks connection or the Big Ten desire to win connection....is there really a choice?

I will be hate watching, after I clean up the dog poo in the yard.
