Recommended Posts

Ducks going for a 10-0 start today at home against UCLA. This, after playing 5 straight games on the road, which included three wins against teams ranked in The Associated Press Top 25.

Tickets are somehow going for as low as $7, and the game in on the B1G network.

Go to the game if you can. These Ducks deserve, and need, our support.

GO DUCKS!

Unfortunately, living on the edge finally bit our Ducks in the backside.

UCLA player didn't call "bank", not sure it should have counted.

I watched the replay and could hear him call "bank." :classic_cool:

Thee Bruins were hitting 3's all game long, including the dagger at the end; but that block on Shelstad sure looked like goaltending to me.

Awesome, competitive game and I really thought that Shelstad "dagger three" with like less than 5-6 seconds on the clock was the game winner.

Unfortunately UCLA had one in their back pockets to "knife through the heart us" in that little bit of time left.

Still, a loss like this will probably serve the team, in a positive way, in the big picture.  Can't win em all, but 9-1 a third of the way through the season, with three Quad 1 wins, is an enviable place to be in.

Keep on grinding hardwood Ducks!

Full agreement. UCLA fan would argue, but I thought the Bruins played a great game, according to MacLean, they never shot 3's like that before, and when that happens, the whole game picks up.

Meanwhile, the Ducks played worse than they have all season before they flipped the switch and were ready to win. Angel is in a slump, Bamba lost his shot completely 3 games ago, and they still almost won.

The ducks seemed off. They always play hard but their shots were not hitting and UCLA's shot lights out. It's amazing the ducks kept up. Their defense always keeps in them in games and probably will throughout the season. They will bounce back even stronger and probably more focused. Losing a game will do that.

The way UCLA was hitting 3's its amazing the ducks nearly won it. That last one was a heartbreaker for sure.

We got the call on the goaltending against Bama so I'll just see this as karma, we probably deserved to lose one of these games where we got down and then had to fight our way back.  We continue to play incredibly well in crunch time.

Not really bothered at all by this loss, UCLA basically played their best game of the season, shot better than have the entire season, and won on a banked in 3, it happens.

Still think we're poised for a top 4 seed type season.  Bamba who has been one of our better players basically did nothing in this game, and we still should have won if it wasn't for a fluky shot.  Bittle and Shelstad shot better, Barthelemey might be the best backup guard in the nation, Angel is incredibly productive, just an incredibly balanced team who will be trouble for everyone this season.

We do need to rebound better, that's probably the one thing that I really think we might be lacking, other than Bittle we don't have great rebounders, Angel has been pretty weak as a rebounder in his career for being 6'9.

Exactly right. It was the best game UCLA played all year, probably will be the best for the rest of the year, and yeah, maybe the L will be what it takes to get the Ducks to play 40 minutes. They're at 9-1, 3 Quad 1 wins. This team will do what Altman's teams always do, get even better.

UCLA's a good team, that won't be a bad loss last in the season, Cronin is one of the better coaches out there, he'll get his guys to 20 wins I think.

Agree. Not bothered at all by this loss. UCLA is back in the Top 25 and is 14 in the NET ranking. If you are going to lose a game, lose one to a good team.  This didn’t hurt Oregon’s ranking or potential seeding very much.
