It would be very expensive, even for osu2 to fire Day, and I don't see any Name Coach wanting to be the guy to come in. But, if osu2 doesn't make it to at least the Championship Game. it's gonna be rough.

I hope we here at OBD never become like tOSU fans. He has won more games each season than most coaches ever.

I'm not sure how I would feel if DL won 10 games every year but lost to UW all the time. 

 

But, we aren't them. And Dan Lanning knows how to win big games.

Boy are we fortunate. 

Never finished out of the top ten at the end of the season, and won't again. He might finish the season without a job, makes complete sense.

 

It does show just how intense the job of head coach at the top level is.

 

We got rid of Helfich after starting out in the top ten the first two seasons, but the writing was on the wall. With Day he is again a top program, but the fanbase is nuts!

This is a fascinating question. If it happened this season, but OBD went on to win the Natty. UW would have the satisfaction of beating the Champ, which they would conflate that to them being co-champions, that's how they get them there.

This year Dan proved he could with a big one (also 10 BIG's).

 

Of course, Dan's Ls could be somewhat excused . . . Georgia game 1, vs Penix in 3 others.  Even though Ofer on 4th downs didn't help, Bo made some bad decisions or throws, the calls were correct.
