Posted December 27, 2024Dec 27 Administrator See bottom of thread for information. He is also the brother of 5-Star Corner Na'eem Offord who was just signed. ------------------------------------------------------------------ It was unknown if Oregon was pursuing one, but perhaps that was dependent upon what was available? Word on other sites is that the Ducks are checking him out below... See posts below for more information...especially post No. 4 because of a special connection to the Ducks! Mr. FishDuck
December 27, 2024Dec 27 Author Administrator Whoa! The plot thickens....from another site! ------------------------------------------------ "Of note, Makhi Hughes' brother, 2025 class five-star CB Na'eem Offord, signed with Oregon earlier this month" "Google confirms that Offord and Hughes are brothers. Hughes had 1400 yards both his freshman and sophomore years at Tulane He has 2 years of eligibility left. Haven't watched him play, but his stats and starting as a true Freshman suggest that he's a gamer." ----------------------------------------------- Watching those 2023 Highlights above suggest that he has Bucky Irving-type wiggle, and makes people miss, but he does not have huge breakaway speed. Probably similar to Jordan James in that respect, and I do not know if he has Jordan James power. But 1,300 yards a season? Over 900 yards after contact? Mr. FishDuck
December 27, 2024Dec 27 Thanks Charles, I was going to comment on his speed, Charles already did. but the rest is very impressive. Good short yardage back.
December 27, 2024Dec 27 Lanning has no issue bringing in a player who may end up sitting on the bench. Jay Harris is the case and point. He has had some flashes when he's had a chance to touch the ball but there is a reason he isn't in rotation.
December 27, 2024Dec 27 YouTube impression: liked his balance and footwork on his cuts and change of direction moves Sources - Tulane's Makhi Hughes enters transfer portal - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Tulane running back Makhi Hughes, who rushed for 1,401 yards and scored 17 total touchdowns this season, has entered the transfer portal, sources told ESPN.
December 27, 2024Dec 27 Wow. I have been following Tulane football because one of my daughters goes there. Hughes would be a real asset for OBD, or anyone who gets him. Too bad for Tulane as their Offensive squad is now decimated, with pretty much only TT left that nobody wants... ☹️ But I am liking this Green Waves - OBD connection. We can certainly feed and help each other. Edited December 27, 2024Dec 27 by DuckFan93

December 27, 2024Dec 27 Author Administrator "I don't think his ceiling is higher than any other backs on our roster other than Limar." Well, I think two years experience at game-speed is everything. Knowing what you can do and not, head faked the linebacker into the wrong gap, etc....all this done for 1,300 yards a year? A Duck in Hand, versus two in the bush,...roster.... Mr. FishDuck
December 28, 2024Dec 28 I say if we have the schollies, do it. A brother can be a strong connection. Right Tez?
December 30, 2024Dec 30 Author Administrator Matt Prehm on 247 just confirmed that yes, Oregon is pursuing Makhi Hughes. Jordan James has stated that he has not made up his mind about returning yet, but I have to assume he is not returning. He has proven all that he needs to, IMHO. There might be in issue with Da'Jaun Riggs for No. 21.... I like this, as he could be another Bucky for us, and make life easier for Dante Moore. Mr. FishDuck
December 30, 2024Dec 30 He looks shifty and decisive; a Lanning-type RB for sure. Still hoping for home run hitting speed somewhere in the RB depth chart.
January 3Jan 3 call me sunny, but I see a lot of excess motion in his running that might be able to be cleaned up to improve his straight-line speed by a step or two.
January 3Jan 3 Moderator Let's See Moore of THIS in 2025! Oregon Ducks WR Dakorien Moore wins Under Armour All-American MVP DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Oregon Ducks 5-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore was named the Under Armour NEXT All-American Game MVP on Thursday.
January 3Jan 3 Moderator I certainly wouldn't mind snagging this running back. I'm 99% sure Jordan James is going to the NFL and Noah unfortunately does not have the same ceiling as Jordan.
