Like a lot of teams they have problems with mobile QBs. Riley Leonard is not only mobile but is 220+ lbs and is difficult to bring down…if ND wins it will be because of his legs.

HDuck No. 10 Share Posted January 21 N.D.'s Leonard 9 carries for 34 yds on first drive. Gabriel had 1 designed run in first half of Rose Bowl. Had 4 carries for positive yardage in game. Negative yardage overall due to sacks when setting up to throw. Being behind by 14 or 17 pts so quickly meant perhaps designed runs were out, but felt then there was room for Gabriel to run to keep the OSU D more honest.
HDuck No. 11 Share Posted January 21 I suppose there is also an element that when you get to a championship game you don't have to "save your QB from potential injury" and subsequent games. End of 1st Q. Notre Dame one possession and TD. OSU still on first drive. I suppose if you control the ball (running) you don't give OSU opportunities?

Mike West No. 25 Share Posted January 21 I'm still wondering what the heck Kansas State's HC was thinking. The guy that was supposed to light the Big 12 on fire will never sniff a College Football playoff game (yeah I said it, the dude is a fraction of what Will Howard is). That may have cost OBD a shot at the title. I don't regret not going full tilt into the football industry, but I sure do wonder how some of these coaches think ( getting rid of Howard to promote potential is just obvious - you don't run off the guy that earned you a conference title). Jon Joseph Moderator No. 44 Share Posted January 21 THE Ohio State University. QB with more than 4,000 yards passing. 2 WRs with over 1,000 receiving yards. 2 RBs with over 1,000 rushing yards. This was accomplished with a banged-up O-line that lost an AA tackle and an AA center and has had almost every game different O-line starting combinations including tonight in Atlanta. Res Ipsa Loquitur. I believe in OBD but the B1G King is still the King. The team with the No. 1 Blue Chip preseason roster won it all. It's always been and always will be about the Jeremiahs, Willies, Jacks, and the next star-up Joes. Hats Off to Chipper and Day!
