Ohio State, either a 2 Loss champion, or a 3 time loser that didn't qualify for its conference championship.

It took a while for osu2 to figure out where the middle of the field was for the coin toss. They win and defer to the 2nd half.

ND has a pretty stout Oline.

Ohio State struggled when DG started scrambling and creating. Like a lot of teams they have problems with mobile QBs. Riley Leonard is not only mobile but is 220+ lbs and is difficult to bring down…if ND wins it will be because of his legs.

ND goes 4th & 1 from the 6, Leonard takes it to the 1. Takes it in for the TD on the next play. 7-0 Notre Dame.

And as I type he ran on 4th and 1 to get the 1st down then runs it in for a TD!

Looked like OSU could have used a 12th guy on the field on that drive.

N.D.'s Leonard 9 carries for 34 yds on first drive.

Gabriel had 1 designed run in first half of Rose Bowl.    Had 4 carries for positive yardage in game.   Negative yardage overall due to sacks when setting up to throw.

Being behind by 14 or 17 pts so quickly meant perhaps designed runs were out, but felt then there was room for Gabriel to run to keep the OSU D more honest.

I suppose there is also an element that when you get to a championship game you don't have to "save your QB from potential injury" and subsequent games.

End of 1st Q.   Notre Dame one possession and TD.  OSU still on first drive.  I suppose if you control the ball (running) you don't give OSU opportunities?

Notre Dame took about 9 minutes lot's of runs by Leonard. Osu2 just took about 5 minutes, 1 explosive run, and a TD pass to Smith, 7-7.

Apparently the ND score was first allowed in 1st Q by OSU in CFP games?

That seems like a good strategy. It looks like ND will have to force some osu2 turnovers to negate the opportunities.

Notre Dame just doesn’t have the offensive fire power to keep up with Ohio State. Great first drive, but OSU has adjusted. They’re going to need some turnovers to stay in this game.

The game is becoming less interesting. osu2 14 Notre Dame 7.

I’m hoping OSU comes out and scores on the opening drive to put this thing away. That way I can get to bed at a decent hour.

I'm still wondering what the heck Kansas State's HC was thinking.

The guy that was supposed to light the Big 12 on fire will never sniff a College Football playoff game (yeah I said it, the dude is a fraction of what Will Howard is).

That may have cost OBD a shot at the title.

I don't regret not going full tilt into the football industry, but I sure do wonder how some of these coaches think ( getting rid of Howard to promote potential is just obvious - you don't run off the guy that earned you a conference title).

Just like the Rose Bowl, Chipster is giving them the eye candy and taking ND defense out of position.

28-7.

At this point, I hope OSU blows them out.

Seems like every time I look, an OSU db is holding a receiver. I don't think their secondary is as good as everyone thinks.

They got called for holding twice a couple of drives ago, unfortunately for ND, they missed a FG try.

A win 😍and a cover 🤑.

And Bad Big Boy B1G has won the last two titles. Never happened in the BCS or 4-team PO era.

Hats off to Ryan Day and hoping this will keep his unspolled critics at bay.

Hats off to Notre Dame for fighting like the Irish on pay-check night. 🍻

These sure looked like the 7th and 8th seeds going at it, right? 🙃

OSU:  21 pass attempts, 41 rush attempts

ND:  32 and 26

62 and 58 plays on offense.  Not a lot of plays.

OSU had averaged 29 and 33.  62/game.  Not like the old days, huh, Chip?

Thought you guys might appreciate this.  I was feeling pretty good for most of the game but when OSU got the ball back up 8 late, I started to stress pretty bad.

QB run on 1st down-frustrated

QB run on 2nd down-frustrated

3rd down deep ball to JJ-I look at my heart rate on my Oura ring app and…..111 beats per minute

THE Ohio State University.

QB with more than 4,000 yards passing.

2 WRs with over 1,000 receiving yards.

2 RBs with over 1,000 rushing yards.

This was accomplished with a banged-up O-line that lost an AA tackle and an AA center and has had almost every game different O-line starting combinations including tonight in Atlanta.

Res Ipsa Loquitur. I believe in OBD but the B1G King is still the King.

The team with the No. 1 Blue Chip preseason roster won it all. It's always been and always will be about the Jeremiahs, Willies, Jacks, and the next star-up Joes.

Hats Off to Chipper and Day! Big Ten All the Way!

Sunday talent wins.
2025 Ohio State (expect it on draft day)
2024 Michigan 13
2023 Georgia 10
2022 Georgia 15
2021 Alabama 10
2020 LSU 14

Not sure whether a title calls attention to the roster and NFL comes calling, or whether those teams had best rosters and that is why they won?   But, definitely a trend there.
