Charles Fischer Administrator No. 1 Share Posted April 9 I received a text yesterday from a very loyal Oregon fan who told me that he saw in Instagram that Oregon State is now going to the Big-12? I started thinking about all the ramifications, of all the Pac-12 money going to the Cougars, how Beavis would drop all their work done when a good offer came their way? (Just like Oregon, who they condemn?) Then I did a Google Search; nothing came up. I checked with one of the largest Oregon State messages boards....nothing. But I did learn that SEVEN players of the Beaver Mens Basketball team are in the portal, and word was--the women in Corvallis are leaving their team as well, and leaving HC Scott Rueck in a tough spot? Holy Crap! Then I checked on that, and found that EIGHT members of the OSU Womens Team are transferring out! So Beavis, do you believe in KARMA, NOW? (Good gosh, I enjoy being brutal on Beavis....) 1 1 Mr. FishDuck

David Marsh No. 4 Share Posted April 9 Again... Oregon State and Washington State both should have used that Pac-12 money to buy their way into the Big 12. Take no TV revenue until the next contract and throw some money to the rest of the big 12 as an entrance fee and live off the rest of the pac-12 coffers for a few years. I would imagine that would be preferable to their current situation.
Drake Moderator No. 5 Share Posted April 10 Obstinate leadership is the only term that comes to mind. Stealing money that they didn’t earn apparently was legal, but really just allows them to keep the lights on for awhile. They need to have a long term plan that increases sports revenue, or decrease expenses. The solution may mean cutting the number of sports programs they offer. Joining the BIG 12 makes more sense than the slow demise they are currently facing. Their players certainly are not loving what they are hearing from their coaches and administrators. JabbaNoBargain No. 6 Share Posted April 10 (edited) B12 has never been interested under any scenario, Why would they suddenly be interested in adding a couple outpost programs that add nothing to the mix? When the B12 went west they added the top programs from the cities of Phoenix, Tucson, SLC, and Denver. Why is now the time to willingly add some leaches? I find this a bit hard to believe. Every conference needs some punching bags. The bad things for the Beavs and Cougs is that they are already becoming that in their newly formed Scrap-12. 1

I find this a bit hard to believe. Agreed. As Jon Joseph explained to me about why Cal and Stanford were NOT invited the B1G...."they would not be accretive to the conference." Would their revenues add to the revenue share each B1G school was getting, or would everyone's revenue share drop because of the addition of the Bay Area schools? It is the latter, hence why the ACC got a sweetheart deal in taking them. Thus the Coug-Its and Beavis have nothing to offer a Power-4 conference.... 1 1 Mr. FishDuck
GatOrlando No. 9 Share Posted Thursday at 08:18 PM I was reading the bio of Tony Bennett the other day for reasons. I found out the retired national championship coach left Washington State because the school cancelled his recruiting visits for budgetary reasons. This was fifteen years ago, not today. How in the world can a P5 program with recent success not have the money for their coach to travel to see recruits? That's just plain embarrassing. Bennett had turned down the Indiana job in 2009. He was about to call Virginia to tell them he would do the same, his wife intervened and asked him if he really wanted to turn that job down. 1

fred flintstone No. 12 Share Posted Friday at 11:21 PM Unfortunately Wa St and Ore St did not understand their positions in the pac 12. They should have agreed to take quite a bit less in favor of Oregon, USC, Utah etc. Instead they demanded an equal share and now have the future of the Titanic.
