UCLA's Rival USC, College Football Chastised Over Notre Dame Rivalry WWW.SI.COM UCLA is watching a PR nightmare go down with its rival USC, the Trojans' lack of a series extension with longtime rival Notre Dame...
DanLduck No. 2 Share Posted yesterday at 07:01 PM So is this a done deal or still in negotiations? I thought they were considering it only. I think it's funny that hiring the great Riley (at $100M for 10 years) results in this scenario. Traditions be d*#nd! I wonder how long Notre Dame can remain independent. They do have a huge following.

The way Notre Dame is being treated they would only lose money and Playoff viability by joining a conference.
Washington Waddler Moderator No. 4 Share Posted yesterday at 08:01 PM At this point in the NIL/transfer Age (not knowing as yet how the House settlement will effect that equation), there isn’t much left anyway of college football’s once honored traditions to make me see the loss of one more as tragic. Annie No. 5 Share Posted yesterday at 08:17 PM Remembering how usc fans acted after the trojans announced moving to the B1G and before Oregon also did so, with usc fans laughing and looking down on the Ducks and saying how Oregon was being left in the dust, I just have to smile at such news. 1
30Duck Author Moderator No. 6 Share Posted yesterday at 11:39 PM Like I said earlier, I don't care if USC plays Notre Dame. I don't care if OBD plays Oregon State again. I would miss playing Washington. I've always been more fired up about that rivalry more than "the "Civil War", probably because it was civil. If Beavis won, it was annoying. I do think it was like a big brother playing a little brother. But Washington is that snotty neighbor across the street. More rivalries are starting, osu2, Michigan, Penn State. There's already a good one with Wisconsin. USC is still around but hasn't been a Rival for a while now.
DuckFan93 No. 7 Share Posted 5 hours ago USC-Notre Dame annual rivalry game in jeopardy after 2026 I think they will agree to continue the series and play in the early part of the season. There is too much money at stake for both programs, which is ultimately what talks nowadays. Go Irish!
