Posted June 4Jun 4 Moderator For instance, generally we think of a rhino as definitely being a creature we wouldn't want to encounter, and a hippo as being a much better alternative, but it seems that's wrong! Hippo's have got great PR from "Fantasia" And a Rhino looks like this But it turns out that about the last place you want to be is between a Hippo and their watering hole. So, anybody else have a thought, a topic, that has been burning a hole in your synaptic process?
June 4Jun 4 Administrator How can this be? "While the exact number of deaths attributed to rhinoceros attacks each year is unknown globally, research suggests that such attacks are relatively rare." "However, it's important to remember that rhinos, especially the larger species like white rhinos (which can weigh around 5,000 pounds), are wild animals and can be dangerous, especially if provoked or if someone enters their territory. Their poor eyesight and tendency to charge when feeling threatened can lead to serious injuries or fatalities." "Hippos are considered a dangerous land animal, with estimates suggesting they kill around 500 people per year. While some sources claim a higher range (up to 3,000 deaths annually), the more widely cited figure is 500. This aggressive behavior is often attributed to their territorial nature and tendency to charge at boats, mistaking them for predators." Hippo Charging a Boat in Namibia... Mr. FishDuck
June 4Jun 4 Moderator The Romans were impressed by these creatures, not known in Rome, and came up with the moniker - Hippopotamus - Latin for "River Horse." A hippopotamus never would have won a race in the Hippodrome in Rome. Unless it took out all of its equine opponents. 😁

In college I worked on a grounds crew cutting grass etc. I would have barn swallows fly low and come right at me and pull up just before me. The first time that happened it was a little unnerving. After it was just fun. They fly like little fighter jets.
June 4Jun 4 Moderator If you’re a fan or not of ‘Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted’, the chef’s season 2, episode 2 offering titled ‘The Wilds of South Africa’ will give you an up close and personal view of the difference between rhinos and hippos. Both funny and tense. On the question at hand, I’ve occasionally wondered how fast Ducks fly when invading the dreams of Beavis fans.

June 8Jun 8 Alexander the great believed elephants were a great unused resource for labor when he first began seeing different parts of the world. My question is if the elephants ever formed a union or asked for better peanuts while doing their jobs. They say an elephant never forgets. Also, which kind of elephants did Caeser and Cleopatra use the most? I'm assuming the African since Egypt is on that continent, and they're generally much bigger. But the Indian elephant might be a little easier on those roads.

When your Fraudulent Power Index has 81.25% of the SEC in the top 25 😜, I expect at least three SEC teams to go undefeated, with the three not-ranked SEC teams all going 0-8 in conference. 🦨
