Posted Monday at 04:48 PM2 days Moderator The Oregon Ducks have opened both preseason polls ranked seventh nationally. Just like the Coaches Poll, which was released last week, Oregon is also slotted seventh in the preseason AP Poll, which was released on Monday morning.Unlike the Coaches Poll, he Ducks did receive a single first-place vote. They trail Texas, Penn State, Ohio State, Clemson, Georgia and Notre Dame. The Longhorns, Nittany Lions, Buckeyes, Tigers and Bulldogs split the first-place votes, with Texas and Penn State receiving 48 of the 65.Oregon football has opened 2025 at No. 7 in the AP Poll. The Ducks also received a single first-place vote.
Monday at 05:02 PM2 days Moderator Seems about right. Easily a top ten preseason roster with a lot of unproven players filling in the spots. I think this should make for a fun season as the victories should feel more earned and less simply expected. A couple learning curve losses wouldn't be the end of the world if they get it figured out by the playoffs. Being ready out of the gate and going undefeated is also a distinct possibility. Can't wait for the show to get started!
Monday at 05:04 PM2 days Sixteen of the top 25 are from either the B1G or SEC. Seventeen if you put Notre Dame in that "preferential viewpoint" position.Boise State is ranked 25th. Not much shock with the rankings. So Texas vs Ohio State will determine the number one ranked squad entering October. Notre Dame vs Miami will likely propel one of those into a season long top five position as neither plays anybody nearly as tough the rest of the way. Unless Florida can actually live up to the hype.I see Alabama crushing Florida State, and Iowa State vs Kansas State in Ireland being a huge early Big 12 game. They call it Farmageddon in the Midwest.Week two we get a top 25 matchup with Michigan going to Oklahoma for early B1G/SEC bragging rights.
Monday at 05:04 PM2 days Thanks for the info....let us hope that as the year goes by and our QB demonstrates he is a Heisman level player and our DL becomes impossible to play we are top 3 or better.
Monday at 06:16 PM2 days Moderator Pawallll! Only 10 SEC teams ranked! Call Greg Sankey and his It Just Means More cops!Six B1Gs ranked, plus USC, Nebraska, and Iowa in Others Receiving Votes. If this ranking, which it won't be, were the PO committee's final ranking on 12/7/25, it would be a Day of Infamy for No. 12 Illinois, bumped out of the PO field by No. 25 Boise State. This would have B1G commissioner Petitti staying with automatic qualifiers if the PO is to expand.No. 7 OBD would open at home against No. 10 Mari-Oh-Oh and his Canes. 😁As Gat noted above, it's a Power 2 world with the 4-ranked teams B12 (proving the rankings go too deep), and the 3-ranked ACC teams trying to hold on.1st time for Texas to be ranked No. 1 in the preseason AP Poll and the 1st time the No.1 ranked team is not the favorite in its opening game.

Tuesday at 06:41 PM1 day Moderator FWIW - AP Preseason Top 25 Playoff -Sugar Bowl - No. 1 Texas vs. No. 9 LSU at No. 8 Alabama Orange Bowl - No. 4 Clemson vs. No. 12 Boise State at No. 5 GeorgiaRose Bowl - No. 2 Penn State vs. No. 10 Miami at No. 7 OREGONCotton Bowl - No. 3 Ohio State vs. No. 11 ASU at No. 6 Notre DameThe Fiesta and Peach Bowls are the semi-final sites. The championship game will be played in Miami at the 'Dolphins' Stadium. IMO, it's not a good idea to play the title game in an uncovered stadium.Pawalll and Greg Sankey would not be happy about three SEC teams being in the same bracket. The bottom of the bracket sets up as an all-B1G semifinal matchup. Of course, the odds are very much against this being the field the playoff committee gives us on 12/7/25IMO, a Clemson team lit up by Georgia and Texas last season and with home losses to Louisville and South Carolina, may be overrated. A new DC, Tom Allen, was brought in for a reason: the Tigers D in 2024 was not that good. The two Clemson D linemen the 'experts' are raving about were on the team last season.OBD would have an enticing 1st round matchup against MIA. A win in Autzen would send Oregon to the Rose Bowl, this time against Penn State. However, I think the Ducks return to the PO, but I doubt Miami, with no returning starters at wide receiver, and no matter the value of the car stolen from the starting QB 😁, will break through to PO territory. As I recall, Heisman candidate Dillon Gabriel drove a mini-van. Only four of the 12 teams in the field return the 2024 starter at QB. What teams with many new starters will do the best geling in The Season of Roster Turnover?

2 hours ago2 hr Preseason rankings won't even get you a coffee at Dunkins! No rankings should be allowed until at least after week 5.But, it is what it is.Starting in the top 10 is nice. It reflects DL's recruiting prowess. But this year's success will be determined mostly by how successful the QB position plays. We look solid on D and the O-line. The RB room is very deep. But we are very unproven at WR and QB. This will be a season where coach Stein earns his salary. Can he design game plans to let our qb's and wr's shine? That's my big question.
