It's UGLY: Candidates for Oregon State HC Keep Dropping-In-Droves

As reported by John Canzano...the North Dakota State HC dropped out, then the HC at Montana State just stepped away. After their disaster with Trent Bray, who had never been a HC...they wanted someone with Head Coach experience.

So they invited Justin Wilcox to interview, he did, and now that avenue dried up. All they have left is an unproven assistant at Alabama?

Poor Beavis...

Rumor has it that next man up for Beavis, is head coach Joseph Smith?

Not from the BYU Cougars, this Joe is the HC of the Linfield University Wildcats. 🤪

Linfield AD, and former MLB player, Scott Brosius, promises to use some of his and/or Pat McAfee's $$$ to match the offer from Beavis and keep Joe mellow in McMinnville.

My confidential sources tell me that Joe's Agent, Jimmy GPS, Jimmy Sexton's 4th cousin twice removed, has told Brosius he wants a deal done for Smitty before the next millennium.

Makes sense. No one, including John Canzano, wants Beavis in coaching purgatory beyond 2099.

In other big-time college football news, this Saturday, having dispatched Colby College, Bowdoin College will try to master Bates College. 😁

Didn't we get an unproven assistant from Georgia just a few years ago? I think it turned out OK.

Beavers need to get the right guy who can do well at Corvallis. Like how Chip did well at Eugene, but not so great at head coach anywhere else.

I don't think an established coach from somewhere else will work for them. Neither will a has-been player jock. They need somebody HUNGRY to kick butt and prove himself. I'd like to see the beavs do well again. I'd like to see them win their conf and get a playoff game. Wouldn't be great for the Ducks to play them in the playoff (instead of a beat down exhibition game)?

I want the northwest to make noise in the college football world. (Ducks, beavs, Doggiestyle, WAZZU and Boise St).

I think that is four questions . . . No, No, No, and a big NOFWAY. My 2¢

No.

Impossible for that many G6 teams to make noise, especially from the same conference…but I admire your enthusiasm.

Maybe Jonathan Smith was more perceptive than we thought. He moved to a growing conference AND he got paid. Better than withering on the vine with players leaving en masse. He wouldn’t have been able to parley into a better gig if he would have stayed.

This situation is so strange. MSU refusing to say if they are going to keep or fire Smith at this point. Signing day is next week and they are losing key pieces of their recruiting class now.

I am completely shocked that Smith has done so poorly there.
