1 hour ago1 hr No. With all the noise about the Ducks/Huskies this week, I got to thinking about some of the more obscure games over the years. This was the biggest game all season for most of the years I've been paying attention, since 1975.We all know about The Pick, but it wouldn't have been as big a deal if it hadn't been for all those heartbreaking losses in the 70's and 80's.The one that comes to mind had to do with a player named Zeth Verdun.Anyone remember that game?
1 hour ago1 hr Administrator No. I believe it was 1986...Oregon is trying to make a last ditch comeback, and on 4th down--Chris Miller fires to an open receiver who does not even see the ball. (Zeth Verdun) Mr. FishDuck

(Zeth Verdun)Didn’t the ball hit him in the face mask? In my opinion, Chris Miller era marked the start of Oregon’s rise from the ashes. We had good starters in those years, but no depth.
1 hour ago1 hr Author No. '86 sounds about right. Chris Miller made a PERFECT throw to the East/South corner end zone, Verdun was in the PERFECT spot to receive. The ball hit him dead on the numbers, but it was the back of his jersey! All he had to do was turn around and catch the ball.He didn't turn around.Typical DUCK Luck back then.
