Canzano: Utah AD Mark Harlan sounds off on the Rose Bowl, beating Oregon, and finding a mentor WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Q-and-A with Utah's athletic director. 1 1 Mr. FishDuck
Goutes18 No. 2 Share Posted May 18, 2022 Interesting that he talks about the first Oregon game as a bit of a payback game (for the seniors) after the Ducks humiliated the higher ranked - over rated - Utes in the 2019 PAC-12 championship game. Shows how Whit loves to leverage emotion even two years removed. I imagine it will be a similar payback scenario for the Ducks on Nov 19th in front of a wild home crowd at Autzen. Not ideal for Utah - staying home for that one!
Darren Perkins No. 3 Share Posted May 19, 2022 I see Utah as being the Wisconsin of the Pac-12.
Tandaian No. 4 Share Posted May 19, 2022 Great comparison Darren. Utah does feel like Wisconsin. Usually pretty good and some times winning the conference.
kirklandduck Moderator No. 5 Share Posted May 19, 2022 They were nice wins for Utah, taking advantage of a distracted Oregon team with Cristobal leaving. Won't be the case for the next season!
Jester No. 6 Share Posted May 19, 2022 In regard to the Oregon question, Canzano's wording was far more emotionally driven than Harlan's response. A guy (Canzano) that puts together back-to-back sentences saying the win "was an absolute ambush" followed-up by "cathartic moment for the fan base", was just beggin' for a zinger of a response. I don't know Harlan from Adam, but he sounds like a pretty cool customer.
