Technical Problems with the Forum

Recommended Posts

Been having alot of problems with the site, it seems since the ads showed up?

People's postings, predominantly in the daily feed won't download (so it looks blank), and now the ads are showing up in the post instead of in between?

Boy, PennsylvaniaDuck has some explaining to do.

Any hints on how to fix this?

Thanks

I know that Charles webbed feet are paddling furiously beneath the surface of OBD to get the website functioning properly for all of us Fish Duck loyalists.

Yikes Charles, these ads are getting a bit personal and persistent!

And they appear to have my demographic pegged. Time for another PSA and digital heinie probe.

Yes, the concentration of them and the location is a bit much.

It will take a little time to figure it all out…

I'm not sure how Pennsylvania Duck has some explaining to do?

Pennsylvania Duck posts articles on a volunteer basis, spending many many unpaid hours looking for articles for the enjoyment of all of us Duck fans. The delays and blank posts are a result of the migration and not anything to do with what Pennsylvania Duck posts.

There are some issues to be sure, but that's to be expected when there are major changes in the site. I'm sure Charles and the developer will get the bugs out.

Go Ducks!

Shawnski, I am not sure exactly what you are talking about. I just went back onto yesterday's feed and everything is loading fine. I don't see any "blank" posts. In some instances, tweets take a little longer to load, but not excessively so. You may have just been on site when they were working on loading the ads. BTW, I am not posting the ads as they come on the site automatically.

The site migration and ads are affecting the site right now and should be cleared up soon.

Challenges and opportunities, it'll all get worked out. Hopefully by Saturday. If not, soon enough.

The only other issue I've noticed is that the emoji's seem to be affected as sometimes I can only post the Go Ducks! emoji...I'm sure you are aware of that as well, I just wanted to make sure 🙂  Thanks again!

I maybe assuming, but I think PD, he may have been plucking the Duck if you know what I mean.  As that is how I read it, all in good jest.  Sorry that the growing of the FD has caused some growing pains but all will be well, keep up the good work Charles and Mods.

It's a joke.

None of your numerous posts are loading for me

It's embedding ads for viagra or whatever in your posts instead.

Hahaha and all

I’m sorry to Pennsylvania Duck, as I should’ve addressed that  in my first post. I actually had two huge tech issues yesterday, and spent the entire day on them, of which these ads were one of them.

I am not going to under-play this, as I believe this is going to take a while to get straightened out. I hope everybody can be patient while it is happening.

We are all very grateful to Pennsylvania Duck, and NJDuck, HawaiiDuck, Tandaian, and so many others on the Duck news hunter team that bring us all the articles.

it is so cool in between things that we automatically always have something Oregon Sports related to do; go read in FishDuck feed!

BTW… it is apparent that nearly everybody is seeing different things occurring on the screen. I personally have had three different types of views as an administrator when I’m on mobile, (Crazy!) so the fact that one person can see all of the FishDuck feed articles just fine, and another can’t see them at all, doesn’t surprise me after all that I have experienced in the past day.

I am very interested in feedback and problems that members are experiencing, so you are welcome to put them in this thread, or you may email me Charles@FishDuck.com

I thank everyone for their patience, as this could take a few weeks.

All I ask is that we see if we can nix that ad that shows someone's eyeball as an orange grid looking thing...🤢

If you report an issue, it would be helpful to Charles and the developers/software guru's to know what kind of device(mobile phone, kindle, laptop, etc) you are using, and the browser on your device.

For example, I am on a Toshiba laptop, running Windows 10, using Firefox for my browser.
