  1. Past hour
  2. Don’t forget to add Mike Riley and Oregon State’s HC names to the list. LOL.
  3. If he did, then the spy was a double agent.
  4. Through the first 4 games, UCLA scored 57 points, total (14.3 PPG). Against Penn State, UCLA scored 42 points.
  5. I watched Franklin's post game and they did put a spy on him. But... Either the spy wiffed their tackled on Nico or Nico caught them on a play they went man and didn't have a spy. I don't know how actually true that is or isn't but that's what Franklin said. Penn State Washington without a stating linebacker who was really one of the primary communicators. However, Moore ran for some important yards and first downs against a full strength Penn State defense. So their defense has problems.
  6. I'm not sure Day was glad to see him go in that sense. From a bunch of sources I have read/listened to was really the Day and Knowles had run their course. Day had become more of a micro manger and Knowles lost some of his autonomy. Warranted or not... That sort of thing gets old fast. So we'll see what happens at Penn State. Personally, I'm not sure he is the best DC in college football but the media loves saying it and Knowles is getting paid like the best DC so he better have answers.
  7. Equity with an expira Cost of the transaction is an important consideration. There are other “costs” that need to be considered. One example is the non-profit status of Athletic Conferences, and Athletic Departments that is already under scrutiny. A multi-billion dollar transaction is quite visible, and will be opposed by people outside of the conference. The tax exempt status of college athletics departments is hitched to the idea that the main mission of a University is education. The commercialization of college sports with literally billions involved really muddies those waters. I am all for growth, just saying other costs are in play.
  8. I only watched the end of the game but cannot believe that Penn State let UCLA’s QB beat them with his legs. You would think that they would have put a spy on him or tried to contain him within the pocket. Knowles should have loaded the box and made UCLA beat them through the air. I was perplexed at the game plan. LOL. Penn State’s very highly compensated coaching staff got outmatched by a team with no coaching staff.
  9. C'mon...Hoosiers have no idea.... Turn up the sound!
  10. Great to see A'Mauri getting some NFL love!
  11. More love for Lanning, and I would agree that Lanning is gifted in this area...
  12. This is a BIG Oregon verbal, that many think is the best HS corner in the country...
  13. Good Gosh...our Duck is so much fun!
  14. Wow...I did NOT see this coming before the season!
  15. Landon is a GREAT analyst for Penn State, and is quite fair.
  16. That is what my "ex" used to say...."you are easily amused." You mean, at least one of us has a sense of humor? But she was right...I am easily amused, and I think you'll be amused with this thread.
  17. Today
  18. Ask tosu if they miss Knowles. Nope. Remember, Saban called Knowel's defense antiquated when tosu lost to the Ducks. It was only after that that tosu defense started running more line stunts and blitzes that fueled the Buckeye playoff run. Knowles defense requires each player to execute their part perfectly, hardly varies, and is isn't flexible. His first year at tosu was marked by frequent explosion plays. Day was glad to see him go.
  19. On Monday, I have to meet with my business partner who is as avid a Texas Longhorn as I am an Oregon Duck. I told him after the Saturday Longhorn debacle that I have the ability to make him an honorary Oregon DUCK and I might throw in my Phil Knight bobblehead as well. What will his answer be???
  20. No, but only because we are not on their schedule. Sorry UM, the streak stops this year.
  21. The dynamics in the game have REALLY changed the last 3 years due to transfers and NIL. I don't think most of the "expert pundits" have caught up yet. Take Penn State, for example. Pre-season the punditry was they are returning many of their starters, more than their competitors. Thus, they are a CFP lock, and likely for the Natty game. What gets overlooked is the teams they are going to play aren't as static as they used to be when the only roster churn could come primarily from adding freshmen to replace departing seniors. This year's Penn State squad is not playing their opponents last year's rosters (+freshmen). Their opponents are changing their rosters via transfers and NIL. Their opponent may have lost some seniors, but have replaced them with senior transfers who are as good or better. It is difficult to predict how a new guy on the roster like Duke's transfer QB Darian Mensah (from Tulane) will do, but a few guys can have a big impact, like Mensah. You can say the same about other position players, not just QBs. The pundits don't really have the analysis expertise to predict what will happen because there is way more churn in the rosters than there used to be.
