Three Opening Season Offensive Surprises for the Ducks
What was that pre-play, huddle-ish looking thing I saw multiple times during the game? WEIRD!

Football Dynasties: No More Moby Dick...
If it makes you feel better Gat, 2008 was also when your Gators beat out Ducks in the elite eight on the way to their basketball championship. That was our best run since winning it all in 1939 until our final four in 2017. Yes we’re thirsty for another one of those trophies as well!

Talkin Out of Both Sides of His Mouth
I don't believe he was talking out of his mouth when he made those comments.

Talkin Out of Both Sides of His Mouth
As I mentioned in another thread, I think he’s trying to get his donors to pony up. He’s basically saying his team will be perma stuck in irrelevance until they do and that would be a correct assessment.

Talkin Out of Both Sides of His Mouth
So is he looking to join the new PAC? Seriously, aren’t the Cowboys members of a P4? Are they going to opt out of joining the new big boy division when it happens?

Talkin Out of Both Sides of His Mouth
He disproved the notion that $ makes better football programs when his boys struggled to beat hugely underfunded UT Martin. Apparently $ is not an issue until you face someone who makes better use of it than you do. Come on Gundy, you're better than that. Maybe...

Talkin Out of Both Sides of His Mouth
Gundy's willful ignorance is astonishing. He has had the T. Boone Pickens golden horseshoe up his backside his entire career and wants to call out Phil and the Ducks? In fact, Phil just improved upon T. Boone's original model. Of course, he sported the mullet into the 2000's so he may be a bit obtuse.

Talkin Out of Both Sides of His Mouth
I don't know if you heard about the comments Mike Gundy made about the Ducks needing to play opponents who spend similar amounts on NIL. But, you gotta love Dan Lanning's ability to call someone out for talking out of both sides of their mouth ... and do it amicably. I liked this comment especially. "Some people save [??] to have an excuse for why they don’t [win]." https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/breaking-news/article/we-spend-to-win-oregon-coach-dan-lanning-responds-after-mike-gundy-notes-how-much-the-ducks-spend-on-their-football-roster-130730546.html

Oregon Football: Player of the Week Against Montana State
One thing that was also of note, with so many players rotating into our offense. No turnovers!!

Oregon Football: Player of the Week Against Montana State
Great article. I had an interesting conversation with a Bobcats fan at a restaurant post game. I told him I thought they actually looked pretty good as they didn’t really have many breakdowns and give up huge chunk or game changers minus the punt blocks. I told him the reason for the lop sided score was more due to the Ducks simply winning one play after another on both sides of the ball. Four and five star guys doing four and five star things all day long will do that. This game reminded me a lot of the Georgia game for the same reasons. It really felt like nearly every player deserved MVP for how solid they all played throughout the game. Montana St looked like a well coached and disciplined team that ran into another well coached and disciplined team with much more fire power. No shame in that. I think this may be the beginning of a special season.

Notable quotes in Dan Lanning's weekly press conference before the Oklahoma State gameWith a game under their belt, the Oregon Ducks have a lot more substantial things to look at, improve upon, and actual game film from their first Division I opponent of the season in Oklahoma State. Coming off of a Week 1 win against Montana State where the Bobcats were dominated 59-13, we saw a lot of great things from Oregon, particularly the young players on the roster who had a chance to get out and prove themselves for the first time.

Oregon Football: Player of the Week Against Montana State
Thanks Alex for the Article today. Your picks are worthy of your recognition. The whole team was worthy! The first pick for me would be A'Mauri Washington and the defensive line. From the first play and on they took away the run for Montana State! Honorable mention would be the running back room, expecially the freshman Jordon Davison for his 3 touchdowns. Thanks again Alex for all your writing.

Oregon Marketing Theme Videos "2025"
Ducks Versus Them: Ante UpThe cinematic recap from Oregon video came out for week one Monday night, and it never disappoints. In the meetings leading up to the season opener Dan Lanning tells his team that it's time to '"ante up" for Game One. As fans file into Autzen Stadium from the River Walk, exchanging high fives with The Duck,Jerry Allen provides the voiceover from the radio broadcast. "Well it was a historic year, Big Ten Champions." "Parking lot beginning to fill up. The leaves are beginning to admit they don't have much time left. But Duck fans, you've got lots of time to enjoy Duck football." "It's the noise, it's the excitement. It's what we wait for each and every year. Dan Lanning said as the Ducks look forward to the 2025 season, they're looking to double down in a lot of ways." In a meeting Dan Lanning tells the team, "To double down, you've got to be in the game. Our mindset: Ante Up." That music. We've grown to know what it means. Oregon Football: Player of the Week Against Montana State
Our Oregon football program opened the season with a trouncing of Montana State, 59-13, in Autzen. Now, let’s get this out of the way right away: Both Oregon’s offense and defense played outstandingly in week one. This was as good a performance as I’ve seen the Ducks have in at least the last ten seasons, if not more. The offense ... Oregon Football: Player of the Week Against Montana State

Football Dynasties: No More Moby Dick...
I would like to live in an alternate timeline where Auburn missed that kick in the 2010 Title game and Oregon wins it. That's 15 years ago!! Auburn fans are crying about their long long stretch, heck Alabama is complaining about five years. I think that once you get that first taste you will desire a second and a third. But I do hope you guys win one why Phil is still around. I hope you and all my Duck friends here live to see a few ( as long as it isn't at the Gators expense). To me 2008 feels like two lifetimes ago. I've been lucky enough to see Florida win titles in 3 of the biggest college sports in my lifetime.
