  4. The B1G got outFoxed. 🤬 Petitti is reviewing the schedule for all sports. One way to make football travel more equitable going in both directions (Michigan State at SC in Week 4 will finish around 2:30 AM Eastern😧 ) is for all four Left Coast teams to have three permanent Left Coast permanent opponents. OBD plays UCLA, SC, and UW every season. It would take longer to rotate trough the other B1G teams, but that's no Big Deal except perhaps for Fox and friends. How about a Super Conference where the B1G and SEC and a few select invitees own, market, and broadcast their own inventory? Former TV exec Tony Petitti needs no help selling the product directly to advertisers, and/or streaming the inventory on the Super Conference Network. In Week 2 as well as in Week 1, the B1G and SEC games were eight of the ten most-watched games.
  5. Yep, unfortunately, style points are still important...
  6. Stein has the luxury of having a QB that has gone to school studying his offense for over a year. I think he rolls out the “deception” plays because they work, are fun to run. Plus, you are probably correct that our future opponents have to watch that tape. The hire of Ross Douglas as receivers coach, probably added some plays to the arsenal, as well as being a great addition for teaching players. The Ducks are fun to watch, which also helps future recruiting efforts. But, to answer the question of what is going on. I think our schedule overall is soft, and the coaches know that scoring a lot of points is needed to separate ourselves from the pack.
  7. What do the Northwestern Wildcats do well on offense?Originally, Northwestern had a solid rushing attack with Cam Porter at running back, but he was ruled out for the season with an injury sustained in Week 2. Now, it will be interesting to see where the Wildcats go. Preston Stone is a decent QB who transferred in from SMU, but he had a terrible game in Week 1, throwing four first-half interceptions vs. Tulane. He righted the ship last week, but against a porous Western Illinois defense What should the Oregon Ducks expect from Northwestern Wildcats offense? What do the Northwestern Wildcats do well on defense? While we only have a couple of games to look at, the Wildcats have been pretty solid against the pass so far this year, giving up just 131 yards per game through the air. Contrarily, they've struggled to stop the run, allowing Tulane to rush for 269 yards in Week 1. They have some nice talent in the front seven, led by Anto Saka and Carmine Bastone, but we will see how they match up against Oregon's size in the trenches. What should the Oregon Ducks expect from Northwestern Wildcats defense?
  8. Head Coach Dan Lanning meets with the media following practice on September 10, 2025.
  9. Last year I think Stein wanted to do more but Gabriel and the offensive line didn't have the ability to do so for whatever reason. He was also limited in terms of running backs as James was THE back for the majority of the season. The offensive line wasn't settled in a rotation until week 3 which limited what they could do in terms of a run game and pass protection.
  10. College basketball scholarship limit for NCAA division one (D1) is 15 scholarships for both men's and women's teams, effective for the 2025-2026 academic year. While this is the maximum number of scholarships allowed per team, schools are not required to offer all 15 and the number of scholarships awarded is dependent of each schools funding.
  11. Sounds like Oregon talked with the conference about better equity situation with game scheduling. I agree, the conference has placed Oregon with disadvantages more so than others in the conference.
  12. Today
  13. Is the play calling such that opposing DC's do not have much of anything on Dante's maturity in the pocket and think they can storm the bastille and rattle our young quarterback? My money is on the sneaky dudes ..... Lanning and Stein. GO DUCKS!!
  14. We'll just keep pounding them until they can't take any Moore. Puns aside, the only strength on this team is their secondary is excellent, so passing windows will be smaller and run after the catch will be contested..
  15. Great segment about OBD. Hope we stay under the hype radar and continue to play well! I let the tape run and he went on to talk about the Spoiled Children - "No drama" was his summary, LOL. Great job, coach Riley!
  16. Last year, Oregon was the number one team in the nation for a good number of weeks until they weren't. This year's blitz of points brings to mind the Oregon Women's BB team's motto during the 2020 campaign... "Leave No Doubt." Maybe that is the answer. Maybe DL wants to "Leave No Doubt" as to who is the best team and where the Ducks stand among the elite teams across the nation. Maybe we will not be the best team at the end of the season, but no one will doubt how good and dominant they are. This was one of the frustrations we had with Mari-- Cristobal. He seemed to WANT to win by less than a touchdown. When you flirt with one score games too often, you are bound to lose some that you shouldn't. (Take a knee!!!) Don't let up until the game is truly over! That doesn't mean that you wait to put in more back-ups... especially when there are so many 1a/1b/1c situations! (Aren't we blessed??)
  17. It is always fun to guess what Our Beloved Ducks are doing, and then seeing later how close we got. Our forum-friend, 30Duck, has tech issues and will not be able to rejoin us for a few weeks, but I spoke with him on the phone yesterday, as well as Mike West, and both gave me their thoughts on the offense that got me to wondering... What IS Will Stein up to? Thus far, he is doing the opposite of last year, whereas in 2024--he did a slow rollout of the offense that many here found pedestrian, almost boring at times. We were winning, but not winning BIG, while this year we are scoring boatloads of points, and showing stuff you would not think would appear until a big play in a much bigger game. What do YOU think is going on? Do you think he and Lanning decided to "go-for-it," as some games, (like the Rose Bowl last year) require a ton of scoring to win the game? Or that he is just messing with the Penn State DC in advance to make their preparation that much more difficult...and Stein pulls out new stuff for them? Or is this a head-fake and Stein reins the offense back in again...to keep opposing DCs guessing? I love what we've seen, but wonder what the bigger plan is the entire season, and what they're doing now--how it plays into their overall plan?
  18. Thanks Jon. Sometimes there's a blessing hidden in the dark and that blessing just may turn out to be the fact that Billy just isn't a P4 coach. I don't get why guys think they can be offensive coordinators and head coaches in the SEC or B1G. Steve Sarkasian is doing the same thing but he is a much better coordinator than Napier ever could dream of. The guy has turned DJ Lagway into Graham Mertz 2.0 in one off-season. My only hope is we don't hire Lane Kiffin. We need a guy with discipline that won't live in the transfer portal. Maybe we saw our head coach on the opposite sideline this past Saturday.
