  2. A Fansided Look at PO Contenders SOS Ranks OBD's at 12 of 12. The Most Difficult of the 12 ranked teams. 12 College Football Playoff contenders with the softest strength of schedule in 2025 FANSIDED.COM If these 12 teams want to make the College Football Playoff, they must navigate softer schedules. Note that the teams with the easiest SOS are from the B12, ACC, including Mario's MIA schedule, and the G6. These odds of making the PO and the SOS Rankings are based on the FPI-biased, SEC-loving rankings. FPI ranks only 13 SEC teams in its top 25. Everything spit out by ESecPN computers is rated A+++++ + by Greg Sankey. On the other hand, Bret Bielema rates the FPI - + Buhler? Buhler!

  4. Fun Titanic fact.... if the Titanic just hit the ice berg head on it would have been absolutely fine. The second in command would have lost his job if he hit the ice berg head on which is why he tried to dodge it and we all know how that turned out.

Toughest College Football Stadiums To Play WWW.SI.COM The Oregon Ducks' Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon is shockingly not included in the top-five 'toughest places to play' on EA Sports' new college football video PSU? 7. Thanks again, Mister Editor! Thank you, Playoff Poobahs, for having the 2025-26 PO seeding match the PO committee's final ranking that will be proclaimed from the Grapevine on December 7, 2025. Speaking of December 7th, and in deference to, not praise of, Admiral Yamamoto, last season Michigan awoke a sleeping giant and filled it with terrible resolve, a resolve OBD experienced All Day in the Rose Bowl. (Yamamoto's 7th? The USA lost a battle, and had to wait a few years, but Dad and his friends won the war!) You need at least some serendipity to win a college football national championship. Before last season, no 4th-place finisher in the Big Ten, like the Luckeyes, would have been playing for the Mayo, not the Roses, on the way to a National Championship. Circumstances allowed 2-loss TOSU to capitalize on its investment of veteran players, keeping numerous NFL draft picks in Columbus for another season. 13-0 was not rewarded last season, with the No. 1-seeded Ducks playing behind a veteran team led by a Heisman Trophy finalist QB, meeting the Committee's 6th-ranked team in a quarterfinal game, instead of a 9-seed Boise State or an 8-seed Indiana. I get it. In 1967, Dad and I were blessed to watch the BoSox go from worst to first, watch Yaz win the Triple Crown, and we were also there in Fenway to watch Cardinals pitcher Bob Gibson mow down The Olde Towne Team for the 3rd time in Game 7 of the World Series. Like the year-too-late change in the 2025-26 playoff seeding, in 1968, in part due to Bob Gibson's three complete game victories in the Series while posting a 1.00 ERA, MLB lowered the pitching mound. SIGH. OBD's 2025 schedule is set up perfectly for another run at a title. But with only five starters returning, will the Ducks be able to take advantage of a season with only two games against preseason-ranked top 25 teams, with one of the games in the 'friendly confines' of Autzen Stadium? Blue Chip Roster USC also visits Eugene. Next season, Oregon plays Michigan in Autzen and is on the road against Illinois, USC, and Ohio State. The 2027 schedule is more difficult. Ducks football fans have been waiting for a championship, patiently and with not so much patience, since 1894. If Methuselah is a Ducks fan, that's 130 seasons of 'Next Year.' Enough already! On paper, the talent is there for the 2025 team to return to the playoffs, starting by bagging Bob's Cats! I'm a Believer! This, no doubt, is The Season OBD Nabs the Natty! (Right?)

  9. Speaking of the Titanic, I don't see Arch Manning shouting, "I'm the king of the world!". Ohio State is an iceberg, and Texas can see it. ASU without Skattebo wins it all? Nah. 16. So I got to wondering..."how many articles have our writers written for FishDuck.com and this audience?" (So I went and looked it up) Jon Joseph 117 articles written Alex Heining 137 articles written David Marsh 165 articles written Darren Perkins 202 articles written Jordan Ingram 212 articles written Keep in mind that each article takes anywhere from two hours to six hours to complete. I think 3.5 to 4.0 hours is typical for me, thus you can compute the incredible number of hours these wonderful people dedicate to us all. Often these articles are written after work, when they're tired or at inconvenient times. So they have given 400 to 800 hours for our pondering entertainment? How many 40 hour weeks is that? (Damn...I'd owe a ton if I had to pay them!) Before you ask, yes I looked mine up and I guess I have to change what I tell people as yours-truly has written 733 articles over the last nearly 14 years. Whew! The bottom line is that the amount of time the volunteers give is just enormous...and that does not count the volunteer editors! We have three that have helping us between seven and twelve years! Writers, Editors....

  19. For the second time in this topic, this is just ridiculous. If his name was anything else he wouldn't be getting this hype, Klubnik, Nussmeir even Allar. But the name Manning gets the attention, and he is at Texas, so, he's No.1
  20. Before Buying the Hype, Steve Spurrier Wants Archie to Prove It Steve Spurrier offered the most HBC take possible about Arch Manning and Texas COLLEGESPORTSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Steve Spurrier knows a thing or two about quarterback competitions, and he recently questioned why Arch Manning couldn't surpass Quinn Ewers in 2024.
  21. Just another layer of depth. I don't think they were counting on him for some time but knowing they had someone as another layer of depth was worth recruiting I suppose. There is also something to be said for just having more mature players. But I always found it highly unlikely Oregon was going to win this recruiting battle once BYU seemed to throw more money at him.
  22. Examining Oregon's Options at QB for 2026 | Latest Buzz From Final OV Weekend Oregon quarterback recruiting saw another domino fall on Tuesday, with 5-star Folsom (Calif.) quarterback Ryder Lyons committing to BYU over Oregon. The Oregon coaching staff was ready for this development however, as Will Stein, Koa Ka’ai and others have continued to recruit other quarterbacks this cycle. ScoopDuck’s Max Torres and Justin Hopkins dive into the latest with 4-star quarterbacks Bryson Beaver and Matt Ponatoski, who both took official visits to Oregon this weekend and are mulling over their commitments. Quarterback recruiting has become one of the craziest parts of college football. Top passers are commanding serious NIL money, and their decisions are watched over and scrutinized perhaps more than any other position in the sport. Oregon will always pursue the best of the best at the prep level, even if their previous starters the last three seasons have come from the transfer portal. Oregon’s quarterback room is loaded in Eugene. Dante Moore, Austin Novosad, Luke Moga and Akili Smith Jr. make up the scholarship players on the roster and they could all be back in Eugene for the 2026 season. Max and Justin also take a closer look at some of the biggest names on campus in Eugene for their Oregon official visits this past weekend in 5-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho and 3-star Cal interior offensive lineman Koloi Keli. Oregon could be in line to add to their 2026 recruiting class with many of their top targets eying commitments in the coming weeks and months leading up to the start of their senior seasons. PODCAST: Examining Oregon Football's Options at QB for 2026 WWW.ON3.COM ScoopDuck's Max Torres and Justin Hopkins break down Oregon's options at quarterback in 2026 after Ryder Lyons committed to BYU.
  23. 2025 College Football Prediction, Best Bet: Back Oregon to Eclipse Win Total With college football kicking off in just two months, it's time to assess how successful — or how unsuccessful — teams will be this upcoming season. There is one team whose win total stood out to me in particular: the Oregon Ducks. And based on what we know about this team from last year and its offseason moves, I'm ready to throw down some cash on these Ducks. Let's take a look at what I think Oregon's regular-season win total will be. 2025 College Football Prediction, Best Bet: Back Oregon to Eclipse Win Total WWW.FOXSPORTS.COM Find out why Geoff Schwartz is backing the Oregon Ducks to eclipse their regular-season win totals. Let's get into it.
  24. My Duck-Buddies: I am forced to migrate this forum to a new version--where they can charge me more. (Of course) The new version is a massive change, although this forum should not change in appearance. Most of the change will occur in the backend, where I have to learn a ton of new stuff with the dashboard. Naturally I have no choice, as the software provider will discontinue giving service and security patches soon. So I have to roll with it. This migration will occur in the near-future, and the forum will be shut down for 1-2 days, and prior to it occurring...I will let you know. It is very costly, as just one element of the forum, our moderation system, is going to cost $700.00 alone. The rest of the bill? I try not to think about it, but I know our web developer in England is devoting a weekend to this, and it won't be cheap. I AM the Shameless Beggar, and there is a gold-colored button at the top of the front page for donations, or right here. If you can spare some dollars to help keep this unique community going--I would be grateful. WHO Makes Money Off the Forum? Regardless of the countless hours I put in, I take NO draws from the site. I get paid nothing, but I am not the only one who puts in TONS of hours on a volunteer basis. We have a dozen moderators, and a number of Duck News Hunters who bring the articles to you for free, and do it out of love for Our Beloved Ducks...and you. Our wonderful writers who have each written over 100 FishDuck articles each, (yours-truly has written over 600 articles) and they get nothing for all the incredible hours of research, writing, and photo-editing they do. All these guys and gals are generous to us all, and again--I cannot function without them. I joke with the tech people and the photographers that although they are underpaid for their skills--they are still the only ones making money off the sites! These sites are my-babies, and I will continue to allocate the time because I love the discussion, the community, and of course....Our Beloved Ducks. If you can help, please go to the "Donate" gold-colored button at the top of the front page of the forum, or right here. Thank you! This Shameless Beggar began asking for money nearly 14 years ago, (above) at the beginning of this adventure...
