Oregon Has Found Its Offensive Identity
Thanks, David, for a wonderful article today! You said, "Credit to Ra’Shaad Samples for doing some amazing work with this highly talented running back room." At the beginning of the season I felt that Noah Whittington was a finesse runner - always stopping his momentum looking for the open path to score a home run. So many times Noah would go down on first touch. These last two games convinced me that Whittington has changed. I see Noah hitting the hole with explosive power, never stopping his legs to look for the opening, but bending the path getting as many yards as possible. Credit Coach Samples. I was also impressed with Coach Samples after the almost fumble at the goal line. When Noah was sitting on the bench Coach didn't yell, he calmly spoke about the lesson to be learned.

On To USC
I was looking at some numbers and wow have Oregon and USC both faced some lower ranked offenses: USC: Notre Dame #25 Michigan #50 Nebraska #69 Illinois #70 Georgia Southern #75 Michigan State #80 Purdue #91 Northwestern #95 Missouri State #98 Iowa #118 Oregon Indiana #6 Montana State #14 (FCS) Rutgers #40 Oregon State #86 Northwestern #95 Penn State #108 Iowa #118 Oklahoma State #120 Minnesota #124 Wisconsin #133 So, both defenses probably have at least slightly elevated defensive stats; but, the good news is Oregon is ranked #3 in total defense and USC is #50. USC gave up 34 points and 442 yards to its top 40 offense faced (including 306 rushing). 4.5 points and 16 yards under Notre Dame's averages. Oregon allowed 30 points and 326 yards to Indiana (13 points and 152 yards under its average) and 10 points and 202 yards to Rutgers (20 points and 219 yards below their average). If one wants to throw in Montana State they were held 26 points and 199 yards below their average. So, looking at it from an outsider's perspective, Oregon's #3 overall defense might be helped out by half its opponents rated outside the top 100 in total offense; but, USC facing 8/10 opponents rated #69 or lower in total offense might be helping it's #50 overall total defense ranking too. USC's offense looks elite, Oregon's offense looks near elite, Oregon's defense looks elite (to near elite) and USC's defense looks really about right on FBS average, and the game is at Autzen. My initial guess is Stein and company may have a spring in their step this week. USC's front has been described as "more athletic than physical" and on the back end I guess they have been using a lot of cover one with man-to-man. Stein should be open to attack any way he chooses.

Oregon Has Found Its Offensive Identity
Oregon has finally found its identity, which seems strange to say as we just wrapped up Game 10 in the regular season. This is a physical run team with a vertical passing offense that is also incredibly physical. But hasn’t this been Oregon’s identity all year long? Yes, this was the end goal for what this team’s offensive identity should ... Oregon Has Found Its Offensive Identity

On To USC
Yeah, I would like some Pulp Fiction this game. USC is playing their best under Lincoln Riley to date. They are formidable throwing the ball. They will reveal just how far OBD secondary has improved. That matchup and the mysterious Dante Moore are the keys to this game. If Moore balls out like he is capable of, OBD will stomp the condoms. If.

Quite the Contrast in Helmets....
I didn't think the helmets meshed well with the green and yellow jerseys. Replace the white with yellow (on the helmet) and keep the green and that would be a great combo with those jerseys. Or take the yellow out of the jerseys and make them just green and white. The solid white pants need a green stripe down the side. And yes, the cartoonish extra large buck tooth stuffed animal look does not fit in with college football - but would be perfect for a co-ed kickball team.

They're Coming....to Our City! ESPN GameDay Returns to Eugene for Oregon vs. USC
Oregon / USC used to be for the champs (or first place) in the pac10/12 many a times. Now it's going to be for making the playoffs and/or positioning in the playoffs. Game Day is nice to draw attention to west coast football. I think the 2025 Ducks have a much higher ceiling than last year's team, and also a lower floor. This team has better athletes and last year's team had more experience, hence fewer errors. As the season wears on, the team is getting that needed experience. We are seeing leadership all over the field and also on special teams too. How the Ducks play will determine how well they are portrayed heading into the playoffs. This would be a great time for a breakout game against a good opponent.

On To USC
Where USC has shown genuine improvement is by rarely going in the troylet anymore every time they get behind in tough games. Could be headed for a 4th quarter shootout? Autzen always raises to the occasion when LaLaland rolls into town. But this time? We need to get medieval on their a#*es.

Those Damned Beavers
AND instead of parlaying that major win into national stardom...Beavis opted to go back to mediocrity! Oregon parlayed Joey's good season into a Heisman campaign and NATIONAL brand recognition... Weird how one team made the B1G and the other didn't! I think the SEC would've taken OBD but then again they wouldn't have wanted to play in Eugene every other year!! GO DUCKS!! Bust the condoms...

Bo's Broncos Beat the Chiefs
I hope this quiets all the Shadeur fanboys who have been clamoring for him to start over Dillon. There's a reason why the HC went with Gabriel over him.

I look forward to Dillon's return!

Quite the Contrast in Helmets....
I noticed a definite Beaver vibe with those helmets. Their “M” helmets look like an upside down fusky “W” so what are you going to do.

Dillon Gabriel had to sit the 2nd half...Shadeur was awful. 4-16 for 42 yards and a pick
