Pro Football Ffocus (PFF) TOP 101 Players in 2025-26
PFF's list of the 101 top CFB players in 2025-26. 31 B1G players, Four Ducks - 12. Moore, 17. Thienenam, 32 Pregnon, and 100 Washington. Indiana and Texas Tech both have eight players in the top 101. Of interest for next season, 4 North Texas players are ranked. 39 RB Hawkins, 83 QB Mestemaker, and 85 LB Wesloski are three of the 17 Mean Green players who are following coach Eric Morris to Oklahoma State. OK State will be a far more formidable opponent in 2026. OBD plays the Cowboys in Week 2, after opening against preseason-ranked Boise State in Eugene. OK State opens at Tulsa. The Ducks will be the Cowboys' home opener in an always rowdy T. Boone Pickens Stadium. Here's hoping that the Pickens won't be slim. 😁 https://www.pff.com/news/college-football-pff-101-top-101-players-from-the-2025-season?utm_source=Klaviyo&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=college&_kx=GVhzUOTwm4KFXGxajXe-_3UQSycVDTUwQ95jZfv6GZ

Cignetti's Perfect TO
Allow me to say something in Beck's defense. He may have been aware of the safety's presence and thrown the ball earlier than his receiver expected. A film clip of the play available on the internet showed the received running with his head down to the endzone as the ball arrived. If the received had turned to look for the ball, he could have contested the catch with the cornerback who was behind him. Given the situation, Beck made a reasonable decision. He may have underthrown the ball, but an alert received could have competed for the ball. It is to Beck's credit that he did lay blame on his teammate. I do not have a dog in this fight, but Beck has taken more than his share of blame in these parts (Atlanta, Georgia) in the past.

Predict How Far the Ducks Go Next Season
Unless Mehringer can successfully tweak our offense (doubt the offense changes being as though this is Dante final year) I won't have high expectations beyond a sold 2 loss season and playoff appearance. Wisconsin came up with the blueprint to stop it..Ohio St perfected it and now every good defensive team had us avg what? 18 points per game? Smh

Ducks in the Mix for ’26
Love the article! The next season will be interesting as there's much more starting depth returning than the previous season. Echoing the obvious, Dante will need to show continued growth in his ability to read defenses and keep his eyes downfield under pressure. He showed steady improvement over the course of this past season so there's no reason to believe he won't. The big question mark on offense (to me) will be the offensive line. Last season it was good (maybe very good at times) but not elite. In particular the OT spots on both sides. Isaiah World and Alex Harkey overall did well but when facing the best DLs they really did struggle to protect Dante...I view them as high floor/low ceiling guys that kept things generally stable and on a winning path during the regular season but when the CFP came TT and Indiana really worked them over. I hope Coach Dan shores up the line better this time around, before anything else on the offense can be considered the OL needs to be addressed first.

WSJ - Duke Sues Its Own Star Quarterback
There are so many things that are seriously messed up, in football you have these situations, college basketball might be even more ridiculous with players who signed NBA contracts being allowed to not only come back to college basketball but do it mid-year. You have players who are 21/22 with multiple years of pro experience, G-league players being able to join up, it's a mess. I unfortunately think the only way that it will receive any stability in terms of rules and structure is if congress steps in (won't happen, especially in today's environment), or what is more likely is some sort of collective bargaining agreement.

Ducks in the Mix for ’26
Thanks, Darren, for taking a peek at next year's team. 😁 Spot on regarding Dante. He has started 20 games, and he will improve next season, especially if Oregon can stay healthy at the skill positions. It would be nice to make it to the semis next season and have a healthy cast of players in the biggest game. That Dante and Ducks played so well with 15 new starters and every unit on the offense dealing with injury is a credit to the coaches. Regarding the list of complete teams, Ohio State struggled to run the ball against top defenses. I don't want to go Lou Holtz on the Buckeyes, but Miami punched the TOSU O-line and D-line guys in the mouth, and they couldn't handle it. And Sayin, in his 14th start, like Dante at times, couldn't handle being pressured. If Cam Ward had the 2025 Miami D in 2024, or the 2025 Miami team had Cam Ward at QB, I think both teams would have had a legit chance of going 16-0. Carson Beck was good, not great. I do agree that Mario is not the micro-manager he was with the Ducks, and he made solid OC and DC hires. As to his QB in 2026, that is to be determined by lawyers and judges. Miami is an example of a program that supported the House Settlement with no intention of limiting NIL or tampering. The U is not alone, but its poaching is not restrained by any settlement or legal agreement. Mensah, like Beck, is not another Cam Ward, and Bain and Mesidor will not be easy to replace. Wilson coming in from Mizzou is a good DE, but not as good as these two. However, in the ACC, the U is fielding the deepest roster, and no other program is bringing in the same talent. Indiana in 2025 was a complete capital T Team that played complementary football. Cignetti saw that the 2024 team could not compete on the LOS with the Ohio State and Notre Dame programs and did an excellent job of using the portal to plug the holes. And having your OC and DC with you for eleven seasons is a CFB luxury. Will QB Hoover, transferring in from TCU, come close to Mendoza's leadership and production? That's a big vacuum to fill. (Sorry 🙃) The talent is in place for OBD to make a run at the title in 2026, but you never know how that stupid oblong ball will bounce. Thanks again. Is it 9/5 yet?

2026 Duck Football Commits (3)
Former Minnesota star safety listed among top transfer fits at Oregon While the Oregon Ducks have lost a number of reserves to the transfer portal in 2026, head coach Dan Lanning and his staff have also brought in a talented pool of transfers. Former Minnesota star safety Koi Perich was among those, as he entered the transfer portal after two standout seasons with the Golden Gophersand promptly landed with the Ducks. The true sophomore earned all-conference honors in each of the two seasons he spent at Minnesota. Now, Perich is set to compete for Oregon at the safety positon — and potentially at a number of other spots on the field as well.

A brutal non-call. Ole Miss should have had one more play, 15 yards closer to the end zone. One more Hail Mary attempt. In the champ game, the B12 refs allowed the Miami DBs to mug the Indiana receivers. I like the idea of letting the players play, but not to the point where grabbing a receiver's jersey, arm, etc., isn't called.

Ducks in the Mix for ’26
Throughout the season, I repeatedly brought up the topic of “peaking” at the right time. After last season’s blowout loss to Ohio State in the quarterfinal Rose Bowl game, reports surfaced that Dan Lanning put in a concerted effort to make the 2025 Ducks peak at the right time. And, they did. But, we were hoping there was another level ... Ducks in the Mix for '26
