Diamond Ducks vs. St. Mary's at 6:00 PM on B1G+
Charles Fischer replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Wow...I forgot he was a starter early on last year. There was a ton written about him with high hopes... -
Whoa! They list the starting pitcher for Oregon as Toby Twist? He was the No. 1 left-handed pitching recruit out of California two years ago, was injured about a third the way into last season, and this is the first time we've seen him this year! He only pitched 15 innings last year, and had a 4.60 ERA when he had the injury. We NEED another pitcher to emerge, and hopes it works out for him... Many Big B1G Football Games in 2025, But Give Me 5!
GatOrlando replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I'm not sure if I like the matte helmets better than the traditional. Chrome looks good with your all white unis imo. I'm just trying to picture the tunnel run out in a sea of all white under the lights with the all black Duck unis. Kind of makes me mad knowing it's going to be at Noon. This could be a top five matchup with major conference and playoff implications. -

Michigan people have the nerve to say they are continuously being targeted. Remember that they haven't had any of their wins taken away, no scholarships or show clauses either. Michigan should've just hired Belichick. They both cheated numerous times and never got the punishment they deserved. New England did lose a first round pick, but it was pick number 32. What has Harbaugh lost in all this? He got a pay raise and another NFL gig. Remember he was on the verge of being fired and he even pulled out of an incoming beat down by Ohio State in 2020 because of "health concerns". Then in less than one year he figured it all out after 7 years and Michigan went on their run.

Many Big B1G Football Games in 2025, But Give Me 5!
GatOrlando replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Why in the name of golden moments would the B1G not have a clause in the television contract saying there were five games a year that the conference could put in primetime? Happy Valley under the lights in a whiteout vs Oregon for the Ducks first ever visit is a missed opportunity. You know Oregon would have some cool all black look to offset the white out. They would be like Darth Vader or Batman coming in. -
B1G & SEC 2025 OOC Schedules: BIG, Go to Your Room!
Charles Fischer replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Jon...your research and conclusions are amazing...thanks so much! -
I hereby disavow my headline! Not that it isn’t the truth, it is. However, does going LARGE with out-of-conference (OOC) scheduling make sense when we have a Playoff format that’s senseless, coupled with a Playoff Committee that, unlike its college basketball counterpart when ranking teams, prefers whimsey over viable, disclosed to the public, metrics. Yes, the Playoff Committee in 2024-25 ... B1G & SEC 2025 OOC Schedules: BIG, Go to Your Room! | FishDuck FISHDUCK.COM I hereby disavow my headline! Not that it isn’t the truth, it is. 5-Star QB Jared Curtis Picks Georgia over Oregon
2002duck replied to noDucknewby's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Yes, it's been very brutal. I wonder if we are trying to play the nice guy a bit too much and are allowing players to make decisions for the love of the game and our program. It's not enough- we need to pay a lot more if we keep losing out like this. Plus the defections? Just pay more. It's not my or your money. -

I think if OBD can get him, Ryder Lyons is a better fit in WS’s offense since he’s much more of a dual threat type of QB. His size and talent remind me of Bo Nix, plus the 1 year mission he’s taking leaves some extra time for the already talented QB room to spread out a bit. -

In the end I think his parents influenced his decision due to the distance. -

5-Star QB Jared Curtis Picks Georgia over Oregon
Solar replied to noDucknewby's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I'm slightly disappointed to not get him, but man, it's such a crapshoot. Like 1 out of all the playoff teams had a QB they signed from HS. It's more disconcerting to be struggling with recruiting this year with USC stepping so much, you do wonder how much USC is really affecting talent available to us. Like the players we used to steal from USC aren't available to take anymore so we are more reliant on stealing from non-west coast locations where we have a lower hit rate. How big of an impact is that? It's non-zero, but we won't really know until signing day. -
You know...the ad that elevated from the bottom of the page to where it became hard to publish a post? (Green arrow below) You had to click the little arrow each time to get it to lower...(Red arrow below) It was a pain on desktop, pad AND mobile...and I finally got the advertising platform to remove it. They told me how, "it makes much more money, and it is easy for the readers to move it downward." Yes, and it inconvenienced every reader on every page, and they finally deleted it when I bugged them. The heck of it is...we had it before and I had it removed, but they brought it back without asking me. They get a cut of revenue, hence why they give me grief. We make less, yes. But if it drives people off--what good is it? Besides, it annoyed me to no end, which means that it had to be doing so to others. And if anyone is so inclined...we do have a "Donate" button at the top of the page! Do consider it, to help me make up the loss. Just an update, and THANKS to all! Charles

This was a "good-or-good" scenario to me, in that I think that when it comes to the QB position--an experienced one through the portal might be the best way for Oregon...
