Got to love ESPN. 6 of 12 from the SEC… Texas - not top 15 even… LSU - beat two power 4 teams with losing records Tennessee actually went up because of a close loss… wow ESPN.comProjecting the CFP top 12 after Week 3We assess how the committee could stack the top teams in the country after Week 3.
  4. It wasn't as pretty or dominant as the first two weeks of the season, but the Oregon Ducks will walk away from this weekend with their first road win of the year and a 1-0 record in Big Ten Conference play. There was a lot to like from the Ducks' 34-14 win over the Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday, and a lot to clean up going forward as well Oregon Ducks snap count takeaways: Diving into the numbers from Week 3
  5. Dan Lanning suggests Ducks 'lacked a little killer instinct' to close Northwestern victory Oregon head coach Dan Lanning wasn't pleased with the way the fourth-ranked Ducks closed Saturday's 34-14 win over Northwestern.

  12. Personally I don't mind a small handful of penalties if it means putting every game away by halftime. 🤷
  13. No penalties in a game, the first since 2000 per the telecast. They may have lacked intensity, but you can't sleepwalk to a zero penalty game.

  15. How about A&M! First win on the road against a top 10 team since 2014. 13 road games vs. top-10 losses before tonight's win in South Bend. ND at Arkansas this Saturday won't be a lay-up for the Irish. The Hogs on the road at Ole Miss were in the game to the very end of a seven-point loss shoot-out. ND, without another top 25-ranked opponent on the schedule to date, could be in PO trouble. With Pitt losing the Back Yard Brawl game to the West Virginia Rich-Rods, USC, 3-0, and a 33-17 winner at Purdue, could be the Domers' only top-25 opponent hope.
  16. "...last time these players would have played at 9am was peewee football" I believe the West Coast Four are 2-3 in 9:00 am games so far starting in 2024. 1-1 UCLA 0-2 UW 1-0 Oregon
  17. I share similar sentiments about this game. Not overly impressed by the trenches for the Ducks. Not sure if I'm being too critical, but does it seem like LB Jackson (#26) is an athletic freak that is only a missile on defense (he doesn't wrap up)? Too many times he makes fast, hard contact but bounces off and they keep running. The uniforms were spectacular.
  18. I tried watching the Miss St game last week and also hated those bells, to the point that I just turned it off.
  19. I have been to many college, and pro stadiums, and they all follow a predictable formula. By the way, refs can already stop play because of artificial noise. The music, or noise from speakers well above field level are not the reason teams win, or lose. I never have heard any coaches say that if they turned off all the speakers we would have won. But, many talk about a stadium being a tough environment, referring to the crowd noise.
  20. I am enjoying the relative lack of penalties so far this season.
  21. Hey now... The Beavers get the chance to play on the B1G network next weekend!
  22. I could tell something was off at Martin, even over the TV speakers... No way 12,000 fans would be able to create that much racket. My wife was complaining about the "cowbells" giving her a headache in the background of the last Mississippi State game we watched (And they didn't sound anything like the cowbells from a couple decades ago). I have to admit, I do occasionally miss my Duck Lips... My late son and I blew upquitea few of those!
  23. With Ls vs UNLV and New Mexico, UCLA has secured last place in the Mountain West. Nico - 'This is what I get for coming home?' I hope our friend Nevada Dawg, ND, didn't have to call on an MD as the Dawgs somehow walk away with another W over the Vols. Fantastic game! 1901 - last time TOSU lost to an in-state opponent, but Ohio kept it close until it didn't. Michigan, in a walkover game, decides to play the O it should have last week. Perhaps Sherrone should serve more minutes in the penalty box. Beavis should have snuck out during the weather delay. And Wazzu? Thanks for being the weeds mowed down by The Big Green Machine. 1st huge game of the season next Saturday when OBD faces the top team in the Pac-12, right? This year's Indiana could well be ... Indiana. 73-0 Largest Hooisir shutout since 1901. In honor of two B1G 1901's, Hats Off to Teddy Roosevelt! This year's 2024 FSU could be Clemson. Sue your ACC off at your own risk? USC 33 - Purdue 17 - SC wins its first B1G road game as a conference member and goes 1-9 in its last 10 road games in the Eastern time zone; first win since 2012. Great News! OBD is now 1-1 vs, the NW Wildcats! 1974? What are you good for? Absolutely Nothing!
  24. I couldn't tell too much based on watching on TV but the TV experience is not the in person one. But there should be rules about piping in noise. I know other fan bases have accused Autzen of pumping in noise but being there in person you can FEEL the human volume. It is certainly different and disruptive. But it comes at the cost of 50k+ crazy fans. Not the push of a button. I know the Pac-12 banned noise makers and I believe most conferences have a similar ban. Autzen still has the noise maker ban. If noise makers are banned so should pumping in sound to disrupt the opposing team.
  25. I had a friend go to Miami/Notre Dame during week 1. She said the DJ that Miami uses had the volume turned up to unbearable levels. They weren’t allowed to play music while the ball is in play, so he kept it on until Notre Dame’s center moved his hand to snap the ball. Miami had the benefit of the music stopping while they had the ball.
  26. There were no stands filled with fans behind our bench against Northwestern today, yet it was really difficult for the coaches and players to communicate on our sidelines due to super loud speakers. Then I watched part of the Texas Tech game and on 3rd down there was a really loud sounds affect blaring away while the Beavers were at the LOS with the QB trying to make calls to the team. If we want to take it to the extreme let's set up an 80s guitar band with a wall of Marshall full stacks behind the visitors bench pumping 140dB until their ears bleed and while we are at it install a state of the art direction sound system mounted on the light poles that pumps focus pink noise directly at the line of scrimmage. Or better yet, install a few of those state of the art crowd control devices to direct obscene dBs at the offense. I mean who needs yelling fans anymore? What is too much? Are there any rules?
