  2. Ducks win 8-7, as Ryan Featherston gave up a triple, and then a two-run HR. But with two outs and full-count on the batter--he generated a line drive that went straight to 1st baseman Miranda for the final out. Whew! We seemed in control most of the game, then pitching would give up a batch of runs. Glad we have an offense!
  3. Thanks, George. Dillon had a terrific combine. I've seen his name in the 1st round in a few mock drafts. Dolphins - What to doa with Tua?
  4. 8-5 Ducks after eight innings. Jack Brooks took a beautiful swing low to hit a dinger over the center-right field wall! Ryan Featherston got the side retired, with help of an incredible play by Ryan Cooney at second to grab a ball off the dirt that bounced off the pitcher's mitt and fire it to first...just barely.

  6. 7-5 Ducks after seven innings. We stranded two again...and it seems that Gabe Miranda is at the plate when it is two outs and runners in scoring position and he falters. He was hitting .158 coming into the game, and I think they may have to make a change at first base. Ryan Featherston took care of the side, and it makes you appreciate good pitching!
  7. 7-5 Ducks after six innings. Nothing on offense this inning from Oregon. The Oregon pitchers losing control from the game with Beavis...is contagious. Tanner Bradley came in with a 0.00 ERA, and lost his control, as he walked two batters and gave up a three-run homer. He was replaced by Ryan Featherston who got the third out.
  8. Well done. Very interesting. Explains why I heard he needs to improve tackling. It's not what it happens when he get there. Its what happens before. Overpersuing. When a strength high speed pursuit, becomes a weakness.
  9. 7-2 Ducks after five innings. Nothing on offense, but Will Sanford came back in! He gave up a double, but on his 100th pitch...got a strikeout!
  10. Oregon football has added Western Kentucky to its 2027 nonconference schedule, setting up a first-ever meeting at Autzen Stadium on Sept. 18, 2027The matchup with Western Kentucky is set for Saturday, Sept. 18, 2027, at Autzen Stadium and will mark the first-ever meeting between Oregon and Western Kentucky on the football field. With the addition of the Hilltoppers, Oregon's 2027 nonconference schedule now includes a home game against Eastern Washington, a road trip to Baylor, and the newly announced home date with Western Kentucky. For Oregon, the scheduling move continues a familiar balancing act. The Ducks have paired a Power Four road game at Baylor with two home contests, giving them a mix of challenge and flexibility before Big Ten play begins. https://247sports.com/college/oregon/article/oregon-football-adds-western-kentucky-to-2027-nonconference-schedule-276643064/
  11. 7-2 Ducks after four innings. Nothing on offense this inning, and Sanford had real control issues. He walked two batters, plinked another and then walked in a run. He is up to 75 pitches in four innings, so I expect he is done for the day. Gave up his first two earned runs of the year.
  12. 7-1 Ducks after three innings! Dominic Hellman blasts a single away from the shift, and then Maddox Molony got a bloop single behind second base. A passed ball moves both runners up, and then the Boilermakers passed Drew Smith to first base. Gabe Miranda walks to score a run, and then Burke-Lee Mabeus hit a GRAND SLAM over the RF fence on a low-to-high swing timed perfectly!
  13. 2-1 Ducks after two innings. You have to pardon me...I got behind because I was making my brunch as the game began. Jax Gimenez walks, and Dominic Hellman got an error-double as the center fielder dropped the fly on the run to score Gimenez. Will Sanford put them down easily to finish the first inning. In the second inning, we saw Drew Smith zing a base hit down the 3rd baseline, and then Jack Brooks scorched a hit up the middle to score Smith. Will Sanford began having control issues as he walked two batters, gave up a hit, and a sac-fly scored a run for Purdue.
  14. Interesting discussion taking place. It is being broadcast live at this moment from the White House. If you miss it, it may be available on You Tube. NIL, problems with the transfer portal, and the impact NIL has on other sports is being discussed. Not reporting, just letting everyone know it is currently available. I checked…it is on You Tube.
  15. Perhaps Dana could learn from Coach Graves how to assemble a cohesive team in the NIL era. Just saying.
  16. With about 2:20 left in the game and Maryland star Oluchi Okanawa racing down court after a turnover with what looks like a guaranteed go ahead lay up, Ehis Etute not only out runs her, but cleanly swats her shot into the stands If you didn’t understand then that Oregon was going to win, you just weren’t paying attention. There is no quit in this team.

  19. First up on OBD's 2026 football schedule is (You Never Ever Never Schedule) Boise State - Yet again, Rob didn't get the memo. 😉 I do prefer 'rebuilt' to 'new world.' Early odds have OBD -18.5 (!!!) But calling this rebuilt jalopy the 'conference of champions,' where can I find some of the glue this guy is sniffing? 🙃 Saturday BlitzWho is the frontrunner in the rebuilt Pac-12? Boise State...After being raided in 2023 by its longtime Rose Bowl ally in the Big Ten and its geographical neighbor in the Big 12, the Pac-12’s conference rebuild is finally
  20. Boy...this shoots the hell out of my day! Welcome to Big-10 Baseball Charles, because when they start their games at 4:00 PM...it is just after lunch for us. Purdue is where Coach Waz coached for a few years, so not only does he know Big-10 ballparks well, but he knows this one superbly. Surprisingly...Purdue is a decent team, a team that could beat us if we don't play (or pitch) our best. The Boilermakers are 8-3 as they swept Marist, won a series with Portland, barely lost to No. 11 Southern Miss 5-4 and beat Beavis in a tournament, 5-2. So come ready to play, as their pitcher, Cole Van Assen has an ERA of 4.16 (respectably good) and we counter with our ace, Will Sanford. (ERA of 0.00) Purdue has some really tough relievers, and some others that don't look so hot. I imagine to take a game off of us--they will throw the best relievers at us in the first game? Saturday's game is at 11:00 AM PST, and Sunday at 9:00 AM PST? (Charles...get used to it!) Will Sanford
  21. Ehis Etute is a beast, it's been very impressive to see her development this season. Hopefully the Ducks can pull off another upset and at least move up a seed or two in the tourney.
  22. Autzen Stadium is No. 4 on Josh Pate's 10 Toughest Places to Play - Penn State's Beaver Stadium is No. 3 A Dog of a stadium at TOSUN (That Other School Up North) came in at No. 6 - 🤬 The other seven stadia are in It (used to) Just Mean More territory. No ACC, B12, or new world pac-12 teams are on the list. On3Ranking the Top 10 toughest stadiums in college football.
  23. Really, really good points, and the 13 day layoff answers my concerns about a layoff. 13 is not the 28 days of the past two years....

That will make life easier for recently promoted offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer. https://247sports.com/college/oregon/article/drew-mehringer-explains-what-an-experienced-dante-moore-unlocks-for-oregons-offense-276500995/
  27. When I played football at Benson in high school('71-75), I can still remember the coaches telling us that there was a new shoe company in Beaverton, that had good football shoes that were affordable. They were $12.00 IIRC. It was still called Blue Ribbon Sports.
