  1. I am not sure how you quit on the sidelines and then perform on the field. Nobody has a switch like that. Maybe what you saw as quit was a guy in his head figuring out what to do next. Frustration and quit are not the same thing. Guy is putting up 45 points and loosing. As was previously mentioned the guys he actually played with said he was a good teammate
  2. I find it interesting that in 2024 real men still don't cry. The guy won the Heisman. The next year his team sucked. Yet you saw zero quit. He played out the end of the season like they really had something to play for. Guys are painting their fingernails and wearing blue hair. Welcome to the new millnnium. You going to walk up to this dude and comment on his red fingernail polish. Doubt it.
  3. If you take away the two Washington games the average goes down to 13.42.
  4. Interesting take. I wonder if that rule should apply to coaches as well. So Johnathan Smith owes Oregon State for his salary for this year. As well as his assistants that left early. Any coach who leaves before the bowl game owes his school the entirety of his salary. This has been going on with coaches for years few complained to this level. No players opted out of playoff. And won't moving forward won't either. As we saw in the Washington game. They are one play away from not playing. Then the question just becomes for how long. Why risk injury for the ( fill in the blank with the nobody bowl here) bowl?
  5. Agreed. Was watching that game with my SEC loving family. Vernon went down and I left the room. Told my I uncle it was as over and we weren't going to win. He looked at me funny. Well...... Will always be too soon. Had erased the memory. And here you come bringing back the memory and all that goes with it.
  6. Been wondering about the possible flip from Georgia. Maybe it's heating up. And although Trey Benson has been good since he left. Trey or Buckie? I am taking Buckie every time.
  7. Colorado was the worst P5 team when Coach Sanders took over. This year most games were actually close and they only got blown out twice. As for the offensive line they were an fricken to start the year. They did get better and ended a D. But that still doesn't help your quarterback stay upright. Or make lanes for the running game. So any newcomer is almost guaranteed to start. Especially if you are a five star. We shall see in the next couple years how their development is.
  8. Agreed couldn't have picked a worse game from an optics point of view. However, now we get to see what our 2024 team will look like. And it's against Liberty. Not a much rougher opponent. . Good chance Bo, Troy and 'Co weren't going to play no matter who our opponent was.
  9. From what I watched of the game their dbs were 8 to 10 yards off. So they were impossible to beat deep. it also meant they were engaging mid routes as they were developing. So were in position to make a play. I saw NO short crossing or hook routes the entire time I watched. Thus Washington had to sustain drives. Something that is hard to do with no running game. Add to it the pain Penix was in after our game. I still don't know how he finished. Adrenaline is something else. I didn't watch the Arizona game , but heard they used a similar approach. We have better corners so decided to stay in press coverage all game.
  10. Agreed. We get another first down and we are taking a knee and running out the clock. Not taking the three points going into the half seems foolish. As well as Bo not running in that situation. Bo not running limits us in those situations Our defense was getting home at the end. Penix was barley able to fish that game with hits we were putting on him in the fourth quarter. Dude was clearly the difference. We are the better team. Which includes coaching. We both get to Pac 12 title game we win by two scores.
  11. Dieon spent the last 15/20 years raising his children,.showing up to NFL games and helping found a school. During that time he honed his coaching skills. Starting from pee wee football. He is Deion Sanders arguably the best cover corner IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL. And he started with Pee wee. Not corners coach for major a university. Which most, if not all, would have loved to have him. You call him brash. I call him honest. Have you watched any of his press conferences in their entirety? Or just the sound bites? He is actually a humble man. Genuinely deferring to the team and his fellow coaches. In our community it's not bragging if you can back it up. He spent his entire professional football (and baseball) career backi it up. And the last comment that he wouldn't be a good coach without his Kid. Sounds like grabbing at straws to me.
  12. Again. I am confused. Nobody knows what Mr Sanders will do in two years, except Mr Sanders. However if he leaves for greener pastures isn't that what most head coaches do. Start at a bad school, show you are good and then move to the better situation. So how does that show lack of substance? Or is it simply because it's Deion Sanders. BTW isn't this the ultimate Cinderella story? What so much hate. Dont we all go crazy when some 16 seed has a run in the NCAA basketball tournament?
  13. I am not sure what garbage you are reffering to. Coach Sanders has taken arguably the worste power 5 team last year and doubled hwornwin total in two games. I watched both games. To me the Colorado/Nebraska game was a good a game of football as Alabama/Texas. I mean neither team could do anything for three quarters and then fireworks. But back to Colorado how much more substance do you want? The man can only play the gea presented before him. My guess many of the viewers were watching hoping Colorado would nose dive. Well they didn't.
  14. I am a bit tired of NIL coming up as an answer. Conerly is not even in Oregon's top 6 for NIL. Mr Irving has only gotten stronger due to on field performance. Same can really be said about Bo. Ajani Cornelius has a higher NIL rating according to On3, which tracks this stuff hardcore. Soooooo maybe player actually feel they can be better prepared for the NFL at Oregon and win games while in college. Bad enough others think that's the only way we recruit. Hurts when it's one of our own.
