Moga is the No. 2 Quarterback....MOGA?
Will Stein didn't have Moga passing nearly as much after he went in, which was likely by design; allowing the O-Line to continue to dominate the line of scrimmage and get our yards on the ground. However, he looked completely poised out there, as if he already has a starter's mentality. He made checks to plays and got us in to the right runs with great efficiency; also showing off his speed once again. Sadly, I won't be surprised at all if Novosad transfers. However, Moga already looks like a future QB1 here and the battle between he and Akili Smith Jr will be exciting to watch when Dante Moore is done in Eugene!

Offense Strategy: To Reveal Or Not To Reveal?
It seems to me that Will Stein is showing upcoming defensive coordinators as many formations and plays as possible. This gives the defensive players lots of things to think about. Reading a formation pre-snap, continuing to recognize what is happening after snap, communicating what adjustments need to happen takes time. All of this must happen to get players to react. This takes time. The more things that a college kid must be coached for creates more things to process. Making the process more difficult during the game. Advantage Offense! I am trusting Coach Will Stein!

The PAC 2 Have Gotten Worse At a Breathtaking Pace
I mostly agree, but your last line is key for me. I might be starting to feel empathy towards them if they had joined with their partners in the MWC instead of trying to destroy and now sue them. They put their faith in a lesser version (TG) of the previous conference administration which had the track record of destroying the best conference in the history of college conferences. TG was more interested in keeping her job than doing what was best for the conference IMO. They kept basking in the glory of temporary “bean-counting” victories instead doing what was right in front of them and creating a really good conference that could have started this year. They needed to strike while the iron was hot, instead they dragged things out while their rosters became a joke. The new bottom feeders they added to the new PAC are absolutely no better than the bottom feeders of the MWC. There really is no reasonable explanation for why they didn’t merge, it was the longterm solution right in front of of their face, but they didn’t want to risk sharing their short-term windfall, imo.

Oregon Ducks Offense Resembling Chip Kelly Era With Explosive PlaysThe Oregon Ducks showed off an explosive offensive in the dominant win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys, and it reminded some of when current Las Vegas Raiders offensive coordinator Chip Kelly was running the offense in Eugene, Oregon. How has Ducks coach Dan Lanning maintained elite offensive play at Oregon? "Oregon crafting a +420 yardage advantage over Oklahoma State (631-211) while losing the time-of-possession battle Saturday, in a 69-3 demolition, is some wicked stuff that tops anything they pulled off even during the Chip Kelly era. When the Ducks walloped UCLA 60-13 with 21:29 in time of possession in 2010, they had only a +292 yardage advantage. (That's also absurd, for the record.)," wrote Connelly. The PAC 2 Have Gotten Worse At a Breathtaking Pace
I don't like seeing the demise of the Beavers and WSU. One of my favorite things about rooting for the P12 in the past was seeing schools with less resources and brand reputations find enough diamond-in-the-rough players and coaches to be competitive and beat bigger/better programs. It was often the Beavers/WSU's of the world that would tenderize the Duck's main competition over the years (USC and Stanford); I thoroughly enjoyed that. The 1994 Oregon/Nike/PK collaboration was referenced. I can't help but think there was an enormous amount of luck in all that. Hard to think of a more synergistic relationship than that of a University's athletic program and a billionaire alumni that also owns the largest and most successful athletic apparel company. Talk about the planets aligning!! In other words, I'm not sure the P2 could have replicated what Oregon did in a million years. You can only leverage what is available to leverage. I do believe the P2 made a mistake in not simply joining the MWC; there can be strength in numbers there.

Offense Strategy: To Reveal Or Not To Reveal?
At this moment, I'm thinking that if our blocking continues to be like it has been over the last couple games, that it almost won't matter if the defense even knew the play that was coming at them. But regarding whether to reveal the 'special' stuff, or not, my preference would be to save it for postseason, unless we get into a jam before then.

Does the Team Seem Different This Year? (Coaching)
After only two weeks, if I was limited to only one word to describe what is most incredible to me about OBD, without question, it is 'BLOCKING.' I'm not sure the last time I have ever seen blocking like this, and I don't think I've ever seen it on an Oregon team -- not like this. After a couple of the early run plays on Saturday, I was saying to myself that our running backs had better be thanking their line for some amazing blocks. However, as the game continued on, it was evident that every single player, including the running backs, were laying down incredible blocks all game long. And, the blocks weren't just initial engagement contact, they were sustained and often they were taking their defender 10 to 15 yards down the field before stuffing them into the turf. I think we all knew that Oklahoma State was not going to put up more than, at best, 17 points, with most of those coming during garbage time. But I expected their defense to be at least half decent. So, at this point, I'm just wondering how great our offense really is. And even though we've been playing against subpar talent, this all just looks different.

The Ducks Have Roster Depth Like Never Before
Thank you, David. Another in-depth article from a writer most certainly not out of his depth. Recruiting, from high school and the portal, is paying (right, Mike Gundy 😁) off. In today's CFB where you have to win three or four games on the way to a title, talent and depth are critical to winning it all. There's no need to revisit 1/1/25 other than to note that we usually learn more from failure than we do success. This team is focused. This Saturday, playing in front of 12,000 fans on the shores of Lake Michigan, will be a flash back for many players to the glory days of high school. OBD Bobbed Bob's Cats, and Lassoed the Cowboys. Wake Up for a '9 AM kickoff' men, and Stone Preston and the Wildcats.

Offense Strategy: To Reveal Or Not To Reveal?
I hear about various strategies while watching/talking football; many discussed on this forum. Recently saw a post that highlighted how multiple/dynamic the offense has been these first two games, and all the different ways Will Stein is attacking. My untrained eye watching the first two games would confirm that the offense looks way more varied than last year's version. This got me thinking. What is better?: To Reveal: Open the playbook and get real, live reps against competition. Would be a challenge for opposing defenses to prepare for that multiple of a defense, but future opponents will see what the offense has to offer. May be easier to implement misdirection for defenses that are overloaded and "think" they've seen this before. Not To Reveal: Keep the playbook vanilla throughout the year except for more meaningful games, and then unleash on unsuspecting foes. Downside to this, IMO, is the lack of live game reps for essentially introducing a significantly new offense (not completely new). And this was suspected to be happening last year, but didn't really materialize, so perhaps this is harder to implement? What are your thoughts?

Does the Team Seem Different This Year? (Coaching)
I'm not into abstract art. I see a mess of colors and no discernable outlines and I just see a mess. Alabama got pushed around and humiliated by a two win team that had to integrate 20 new starters. I don't care if they scored a hundred vs ULM, IBM, or IBS. They looked DOA on both sides in a game they had all off-season to prepare for. Texas lost to a team and didn't look all that impressive in comparison to the team that beat them the prior week. SECPN is a joke. Their polls are a joke, and their analysts are a joke. The only problem is the joke isn't funny. I'm embarrassed as a fan of an SEC program, but as a college football fan that used to love watching ESPN I'm even more disappointed that the largest network is so bias. They don't have the same credibility or viewing enjoyment. I miss Stuart Scott, Rich Risen, Dan Patrick and all those old Sportscenters that gave me the memorable highlights with that music and funny lines.
