Oregon Football: Week One’s Player to Watch
Having a strong D-line this year will be very important as our db's will mostly all be new starters to Oregons defense. Several key transfers have experience but will be new to us. We must not allow qb's to not be pressured. A good selection Alex of a player to watch for. Bear's presence will be huge if he plays up to expectations. Of course, who steps up to fill #1 WR role is right up there too. When does Fall camp officially start?

Things Aren't Rosey at QB at Ohio State, Just Sayin'
The QB is not the concern I have for tOSU. Kelly was the most important coach last season, he's gone; the 2nd most important was Knowles, he's gone. The two most important coaches at tOSU now are Hartline and Matt Patricia, the new DC. Day's still there.

2025 Preseason B1G Review
Barring injuries, this year's results should be a true reflection of our coaching staff. Almost 80% blue-chip and all "Dan's" boys. This season will prove out the culture, mindset and development of ability of coach Lanning. Any pressure is self appointed as he has been so successful the first 3 seasons, we are all 'in Dan we trust' believers. We now have the 'Jimmy's & Jo's', but will DL deliver the "X's & O's'? Connelly's take is the safe bet, but we still gotta play the games and I think we will see some upsets. So game on! Is it August yet?

Things Aren't Rosey at QB at Ohio State, Just Sayin'
Pardon me if I don't shed a year for their QB room filled with two five stars, and a high upside four star. There were concerns heading into 2021 surrounding CJ Stroud replacing Justin Fields. It's similar to people asking if Oregon in a slump two weeks ago because they lost a couple battles to BYU and Georgia. Hyperbolic statements like "Is Lanning losing his touch?" have about as much credibility as those old tabloid magazines in grocery store checkout lanes that said a sitting President was in love with a space alien.

College Football Playoff Controversy: Time for Big Ten Commissioner to Explain his Radical Proposal
Here's hoping I don't get fooled again, but Greg Sankey and Tony Petitti are discussing the 2026 and subsequent playoff formats almost daily. As Sankey says, 'We're two blue-collar boys.' Heard today in a discussion devoted to the SEC were two SEC homers who believe that automatic qualifiers (AQ) are still very much in play. That Sankey is posturing to get more money out of ESPN for playing a 9th conference game. The SEC's concern about the PO Committee and the manner in which it operates has not gone away. It is incorrect, as has been stated by many football experts, that a 4-4-2-2-1-3 format caps the B1G and the SEC at four teams in the field. Yes, Notre Dame will almost certainly take one of the three at-large spots season after season, but there is no restriction on the B1G or the SEC securing one of the at-large bids. Using the PO Committee's final 2024 top 25 ranking, and using the above AQ model, this would have been the PO field by conference, and the field come 2026 would be seeded as ranked. SEC - 2 Georgia / 3 Texas / 7 Tennessee / 11 Alabama / 14 Ole Miss / 15 South Carolina B1G - 1 OBD / 2 Penn State / 6 Ohio State / 8 Indiana ACC - 10 SMU / 16 Clemson B12 - 12 ASU / 17 BYU G5 - 9 Boise State IND - 5 Notre Dame The ACC and the B1G, except for a difference in ranking, would have been the same in the 2025 12-team field. The B12 would have two and not one team in the mix. The winner hands down would be the SEC with six teams in the field. Bama would have been the SEC's 4th AQ, and Ole Miss and South Carolina would take two at-large spots. If the format had played out this way, it would have meant millions of dollars more for the SEC. So, what's Sankey's beef with the B1G's proposed format? That a format with AQs is not fair to the ACC, G6, and the B12? 😁 Excuse me, Sir, how much do you want for that bridge? 🤪

My question or inquiry is what are the operating costs/revenue if you just have football on the ledger. I know travel expenses are huge. But USC runs just about every Olympic sport. I read an article saying programs may end conference affiliation outside of the big three sports to cut costs. Hockey is run completely different as B1G isn't really a thing. Michigan, Minnesota, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State , and Wisconsin are in a league with Notre Dame for hockey. Florida plays in a subdivision non scholarship league.

Oregon Football: Week One’s Player to Watch
Anytime you disrupt an offensive lines interior blocking scheme you create many opportunities for the MINT defense. The 3 - 4 defense is at it’s finest when you have a nose guard that can man handle the center, and require an OL to double team him. Can the “Bear” can wreak havoc in the middle? That probably determines how we handle some of our top rated opponents this season. Our defense needs to play well. We don’t need our young QB to feel that they need to play “hero” ball early in the season.

2025 BIG Ten Media Day News
No.1 What If...I don't care. No. 2. I think the article has this question mixed up. Sayin doesn't have to better than Howard was last year, Hartline however does have to step up. Kelly saved the Day on offense and of course there's a new DC. A lot more questions than the QB. No.3. Can Franklin win a B1G One? Let's see, Oregon comes in a new QB, behind a new OL, a new receiving corps, new RB's, new DL, new secondary, and they're getting HFA? No.4 Let's evaluate what "elite" means regarding Iowa's QB. No.5 Nebraska could improve over last year and still might not be all that.

Oregon Football: Week One’s Player to Watch
Bear and Matayo sound like a devastating duo! If they're really effective there won't be much for Thieneman and the rest of the secondary to deal with. A stifling defense is and always will be, the key yo winning a Natty. This can be a stifling defense.

Oregon Football: Week One’s Player to Watch
Our Oregon football program had some massive turnover in this offseason at key positions.
