Big Ten Schedulers Don't Seem to Want Oregon to Repeat, or Even Succeed
It also feels like the refs are a bit in on it too. I said feels like ... I'm not promoting a conspiracy. Bear Alexander was held for so much of the game without a flag. There were some non flag PIs Iowa got away with. Meanwhile... Oregon got dinged on a PI call that was a non call. We did probably get away with a PI in there too but still. Did Iowa really play zero penalty football? Yes, they had one with kicking the ball out the end zone for the safety but the safety would have potentially happened anyways... So I'm not counting that one. But Iowa didn't play a zero penalty yards game. Make no mistake we are not welcome in the B1G still.

Sources: Big Ten Execs Pressing to Make $2.4 Billion Investment Deal — Without Michigan and USC if Needed
🤔 Interesting…like eminent domain. Agree to the deal or else! Sources: Big Ten execs pressing to make $2.4 billion investment deal — without Michigan and USC if needed In messages sent to Michigan and USC, the Big Ten has signaled that it is moving forward with the deal, even delivering to each program a proposed deadline for their decision. If they don’t agree to the deal, the schools may lose the additional capital as part of the landmark proposal and risk their future within the conference beyond 2036, the current end of the existing grant-of-rights agreement. League officials are socializing a specific date — Nov. 21 — for a vote on the capital investment proposal. Administrators and board members at both Michigan and USC were informed earlier this week that, if a 16-school agreement is reached, the two programs would be granted a grace period — three to six months — to agree to join the deal if they wish to reap the full financial benefits. That period is only a proposal for now.

Completely believe this. At some level a newb coming in from the PAC and winning at everything is somewhat embarrassing.

Crazy Coaching Carousel Could Seriously Affect Ducks
Is Smith a desirable hire for anyone looking in the P4? He’s tanking pretty hard and on at least a warm-seat. 0-6 in conference and giving up almost double what they’ve scored (in conference) doesn’t exactly scream “lure me away.”

AP voters always just look at the actual official playoff rankings once they hit, I’m surprised we aren’t 9th.

Big Ten Schedulers Don't Seem to Want Oregon to Repeat, or Even Succeed
🤔 Between BIG scheduling and Referee issues of one sidedness calls, you start believing it! After a gritty win against Iowa the Ducks have to play 6-3 Minnesota on Friday night with the Gophers coming off a bye. Oregon beat Iowa 18-16, marching 54 yards in the last two minutes, Atticus Sappington drilling a 36-yard field goal in swirling winds and driving rain with :07 to play. They beat the No. 20 Hawkeyes in Kinnick Stadium but the Big Ten schedulers don't seem to think that's enough. Now 8-1, the Ducks play in six days. Minnesota enjoys a full 14 days to prepare, having last played at home November 1st against Michigan State, a game they won 23-20 in overtime. That's absurd scheduling that handicaps the defending conference champions. You couldn't hand P.J. Fleck's team a bigger scheduling advantage, unless the game was moved to Bloomington. Ducks DROP in AP Poll?
Ole Miss defeating The Citadel in Oxford just means more to AP voters than OBD's win in Iowa City? The pushback against Petitti's perfectly logical AQ PO format, as warranted by on-field results this season, has made the Big Ten CFB's whipping boy. The ACC and the B12 deserve more than two teams in the PO field? Texas's loss at Florida, OT escapes against Kentucky, and Mississippi State, a 3-point home win over Vandy? A great loss and three great wins, right? 🤬 To state the obvious, losses to SEC teams just mean less, and wins over any and every SEC team just mean more. The 4th-place Big Ten finisher should not be in the PO field? The SEC should put six teams in the PO? This horse manure cements my backing of Petitti's PO format, including conference sixth place at third place and fifth place at four play-in games. Here's a ranking that isn't Southern fried. https://masseyratings.com/cf/fbs/ratings Eight Big Ten teams in an objective top 25. Plenty of SEC teams are in the top 25. So, four each automatically in the field, with a chance for additional at-large representatives, simply mirrors what we've seen on the field to date. This Tuesday, I hope we do not see the committee mirroring the AP.

It was probably influenced by the #9 last Tuesday in the one that counts. This Tuesday they will probably move up one.

Crazy Coaching Carousel Could Seriously Affect Ducks
It’s year 3 for Stein, and I share your indifference to Stein as OC. Continuity is usually a plus, but I’ve not been enamored with the offense recently. Ducks haven’t scored more than 20 points against a good team this year. And, no, I’m not counting the 30 against PSU since 13 points came in overtime; 17 points in regulation.

Apparently shutting out Citadel at home is more impressive than winning a rock fight in a near frozen car wash at Iowa.

Pretty Cool Winning Helmet at Iowa...
As someone who collects pictures of Oregon helmets over the years for forum avatars...this green helmet at Iowa is pretty cool. Like it better than with the "O?"

I just don’t think you can win in Westwood with their lack of support and would image that that would be important to Fisch. He will have other opportunities. Smith is a more logical hire, IMHO.

We have the Best Rushing Offense in the Country
Nevermind. (Not worth it.)
-
Never a DOUBT....Right?
I’m with you on this. Scoring by the offense has been underwhelming. With nearly 300 yards rushing against Iowa, the Ducks should have scored more than 18 points. Some blame the weather in recent games, but Oregon has always played in rainy, cold weather so I don’t find that to be a compelling reason for averaging in the teens on offense. In fact, I checked the weather in Eugene around game time. It was 44 degrees. Had it been raining in Eugene, it would have been the same conditions as in Iowa City.
