  2. I try not to look for stuff to worry about. I doubt that Sr. will be a problem, and I trust Dan Lanning to handle the problem in an appropriate manor if it should arise in the future.

  5. But I will always remember Akili for this...(the winning points) And this!
  6. I have thought about this before...how a notable alum and player could be a problem for our coaches. Akili was a QB coach for hire, and I believe counseled prior players at Oregon. He is a great fan, and has a very talented son who will sign as a QB this December for Oregon. In fact "Jr." was up here this weekend to help recruit the big group of recruits to OBD, so I love how he is helping the staff. But could a consultant who-has-a-Duck-in-the-fight be an issue later? Playing time? NIL? The complexities of being a college coach these days---whew!

  8. Oregon Football's New Big Ten Conference Opponents: Indiana, Part 1 Indiana football does not have a glitzy history, but they are one of the programs that has been with the Big Ten Conference since the beginning, a league the Oregon Ducks join this year. "You’ll see Indiana win some football games in the next few years, or they’ll take me out and put me under six feet of earth." - Bo McMillan, football coach 1934-47 Oregon Football's New Big Ten Conference Opponents: Indiana, Part 1 WWW.SI.COM An original member of the Big Ten Conference, the Indiana Hoosiers aren’t a juggernaut on the gridiron. Still, they’re smack dab in the middle of what is essent
  9. Oregon ended up third in the conference, by only a game. The Ducks were picked to be fourth in the pre-season, and I cannot complain as we had our chances a ton of times where a game would slip through our fingers. We lost three one-run games where we left multiple runners on bases to end innings in those losses, where one hit wins the game and our conference. (We had the tiebreaker on Arizona, as Oregon won that series) We play in the conference tournament on Wednesday against Utah at 2:30, and USC on Thursday at 2:30 in our three-team pod. Oregon needs to do well, to assure our spot in the NCAA tournament, as last year our conference had two very good teams that should have been in the tournament, but were left out. Even though the Pac-12 has won more Baseball 'Nattys than all the other conferences combined....we don't get enough respect. Imagine that!

  13. Ducks got it done, winning 10-4! Now if Oregon State beats Arizona tonight, they win the conference and the Wildcats and Oregon tie for second. Since Oregon won the Arizona series earlier this season...Oregon would become the No. 2 seed in the Pac-12 Tournament and second in the final Pac-12 conference season. Cheer for the Bastard Beavers tonight?
  14. After four innings, Our Beloved Ducks lead 5-3! Gosh...what a sweet swing!
  15. Play 8 conference games in a 2nd string conference that enables ND football to remain independent and IMO, you have this comin'.
  16. I say, enjoy the ride while you can. College football is not done with its changes yet, and I'm sure we will bemoan them as they happen. But Charles, you pretty well summed it all up. Sad, disbelief, to surprise, and now elation. And now, there will be no excuse for belittling our Ducks from east coast pundits. In fact, the early preseason polls show our Ducks getting plenty of love. Would that have been the case if we were still Pac12? Plus it will be great fun to see all these B1G teams in Autzen. Or always on TV. I too get irked that we have to take less$$, but it's more then it would have been. And the advantage to recruiting! Great coaches. Great facilities. Top NIL deals. Great fan base. And without question, great competition and great exposure. Can't wait for season to start.
  17. The site corrected itself. It had the schedule reversed at first. Good for them.
  18. Those of you who replied (either directly or indirectly) to my skepticism make some really good points. I know well the way the PAC-12 was barely visible to those east of the rocky mountains except at r\Rose Bowl time. And even then, many had to look to see who had won the conference out West. I remember lamenting the fact that Christian McCaffrey, IMHO the far and away best player in college football during his senior year, was snubbed for the Heisman because many voters had never seen him play. I do understand your sentiments! But I also still fear for the future of college football. Can't help it; it is a legitimate concern to me. Now I'll promise to go mute on the subject and see how it all plays out. Oh, as for being at the top of the college football heap- how recent that has been. My Dawgs had spent what seemed an eternity wandering the wilderness, every so often putting together a very good team that always faltered at some point, robbing themselves of a chance to grab the brass ring. Yes, I can breath easier these days knowing that the Dawgs have a coach that will put them in position to win it all, almost on an annual basis. But actually winning it all is not as important as being in position to win it all if things break right. Oregon is not that far away from being in the same position, and that is why, I think, that many of you are quite all right with the move to the B1G. But, nevertheless, I will still miss the ole Pac-12 and its traditions.
  19. Video games are fun. Personally I haven't played a sport video game since middle school but I enjoyed them back then. You get to play as your favorite team with your favorite players and play out a bunch of what ifs. Now I tend to play strategy games when I have the chance to play. I've personally enjoyed playing Europa Universalalis IV as it lets me play out a bunch of historical scenarios and just have a good time. Granted even then I don't have time for a grand strat game so I usually just play StarCraft 2 which is significantly shorter play time. What's incredible is the ever growing esports communities and competitions. It sounds ridiculous that there are professional videos gamers but in truth is it really any different than professional chess players or athletes? They all play the games at a way higher level and faster than any of the common folk. I don't expect older generations to understand but it's growing in popularity. For many having a college football game is super exciting.. Personally, I'm not interested but this will also be a recruiting tool down the road.
  20. - naps are good! Much like an alien abduction, we had an annual release of a very popular video game that millions of people played for 20 years, suddenly disappear 10 years ago. Now it’s back, with a lot better technology to play with. FYI, the gaming company Electronic Arts, which owns EA Sports (Madden, NCAA, FIFA, UFC, PGA Tour, etc.) reported a net revenue of $7.5 Billion in FY24.
  21. 2024 is correct. Home - Michigan State, Illinois, Maryland, Ohio State, UW as well as the away games, spot on. 2025 is correct. Except for the duplicate listing of at Northwestern on future schedules, I believe that all the schedules shown are correct.
