OMIGOSH! A New "Thinking Duck" Bronze Sculpture?
PittDuck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Obviously he is thinking “How many National Championships can we bring to Eugene over the next Decade?” -
Darren, I agree with your statement: While the Ducks did look sharp, let us not forget that the Ducks are a much more talented team than the Beavers. The Ducks are deep, fast, and full of playmakers, and the Beavers are not. However, we could substitute the word “Beavers” with “Vandals” or “Broncos” and would have to say Ducks did not look sharp…

I feel the need to apologize to all my Duck buddies here on the OBD Forum with Decorum: I have neglected to put my Ducks ’O’ Flag in my pickup for the first two games this season. I dug it out of my Duck swag box and flew it proudly this week. The results are obvious! Again, my profound apologies for this oversight, and I promise not to take it down until we own the 2023 Natty! Go Ducks!

On Saturday: What Do YOU Want to See From Oregon?
PittDuck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I want to see the team we all thought they’d be back in mid August. Strong, deep, talented, aggressive and dominating! I want to see a fast start, ownership of the middle 8, capped off by a strong finish. 4 quarters of mistake free football. Am I asking for too much? -
Oregon Ducks Football: 3 Things We Need to See vs OSU
PittDuck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Great points Alex, thank you! As usual, the great minds on this forum think alike! In addition to turnovers, the Duck D needs to force Beavus into lots of 3 & outs. While reducing their ToP, it will give OBD plenty of punt return opportunities (which are fun to watch). Next, we must reduce, if not eliminate, the penalties. We cannot afford to keep shooting ourselves in the foot! I agree we cannot allow sacks to DG, but our O line needs to blow open some holes for the running game. That will not only add to our ToP, it will soften them up for some Duck Bombs! If OBD can play to the standard, we will get the 3rd down conversions (along with 1st and 2nd down conversions) that will allow us to own not just the middle 8, but the entire game. Go Ducks! -

Plenty to Quack About in Oregon’s 24-14 Win Over Vandals
PittDuck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Well said Happy2B, the sky is not falling. OBD had more than 3 times as many first downs, as well as more than twice as many total yards, passing yards and rushing yards. Technically, we were not out played. While they gave us a scare, especially in the 4th quarter, the game was not as close as the score indicated. We hurt ourselves with some ill-timed penalties (8 for 70 yards), but it was the timing that hurt more than the yardage. DG connected on 83% of his passes, hitting 41 of 49 for 380 yards and 2 TDs. With an O-line that seemed to struggle all day. As several have said, it feels like this team bought into the hype, and expected to cruise. Lanning and company can use this as a teachable moment, address some of these issues, and give Boise State a glimpse of who OBD can be. -
We dodged that bullet! It wasn’t pretty, but it as a win. Barely. DL needs to take these kids to the Dr. this week, and get some issues fixed fast! After this game, I am worried about BSU and OSU, and I don’t even want to think about October 12vs tOSU.

Too Many Articles Posted? Your Feedback PLEASE....
PittDuck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Charles, first of all, THANK YOU for providing this forum with decorum for like minded OBD fans to have a safe place to read and comment about our beloved Ducks! I read many, but certainly not all of the articles posted. I, like many on here, try to read all of the comments posted by this wonderful community. While I am certainly no football dummy, I have learned an incredible amount of knowledge from the many savvy commenters who post to share their thoughts. That, to me, is the real value of this fantastic OBD Forum! -
Despite Hype, Oregon Embarks on a ‘Surprise’ B1G Season
PittDuck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Can’t wait for DL to unleash the Demon Duck Defense on the B1G this year! Watching OBD go all Gang Green on unsuspecting B1G offenses should be absolutely epic! -

That Team Out West - Preparation - Fall Camp Week 1
PittDuck replied to QuackyQuack's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Loved it, appreciated road trip scenes, Sun River, Cannon Beach, GP and Rogue River scenes. Always glad to see home. Thanks for posting. It definitely is going to be a fun time to be a fan of OBD! Bring it on and let them play the games! I am looking forward to seeing this team throttle B1G opponents and leave them beaten and broken on the gridiron. Offensive annihilation backed up with Defensive domination! -
Will Lanning/Lupoi Return to the Aliotti Strategy?
PittDuck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Well thought out article Charles, thank you! I personally don’t see this defense regressing to a ‘bend don’t break’ mindset. I think the dudes on this defense will take the mindset of “you ain’t getting squat.” I think the defensive and the offensive will play like their hair is on fire each and every play and each and every player. The offense will score points and the defense will reek havoc on any offense that tries to move the ball on them. This defense is so loaded that the 3’s and 4’s will not be much of a let down from the 1’s and 2’s. The resulting all out attack from fresh player for 4 quarters is going to suck the life out of opposing offenses! That’s my hope and I’m sticking to it! Go Ducks! -
Oregon Ducks Football: The Weakest Position Group
PittDuck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If the weakest part of my team consists of dudes like T Ferg, Herbert, and Sadiq, I’m feeling pretty good about the rest of the team!
