  1. Paul Finebaum predicts Pac-12 will collapse by 2026 WWW.ON3.COM .
  2. I do not agree with the premise of the article, as I don't think USC and UCLA are going anywhere. They will be in the B1G for the next century or however long college athletics exist. The PAC will exist in its current form as long as the B1G wants it to exist in its current form. The Big 12 might not be able to pry away teams from the PAC 12, but the B1G can have its pick of whoever it wants. No one is turning down that invite if it were to come.
  3. SDSU botched their exit announcement big time. They will fit right in to the inept PAC-12 beautifully.
  4. Oregon State has nowhere else to go. They don’t want in a new Mountain West. Of course they will support unequal revenue sharing. So will Washington State.
  5. Miami is now AAU as of a few weeks ago. So is Notre Dame and Arizona State. And USF and George Washington.
  6. There are many more advantages to joining the B1G than just the money. It will greatly increase exposure nationwide. No one is going to hunt for the Oregon game on an awkward cable channel or purchase Apple TV unless they are hardcore fans. USC and UCLA are about to experience a dramatic increase in nationwide exposure. Their games will be on prime channels at times the entire nation is watching. Another benefit - more big time matchups against top brands. Look at the excitement nationwide for the recently released B1G and SEC 2024 conference schedules. Do you think the PAC-12 schedule release will receive that buzz? Do you think top recruits will now look at schedules and think of the excitement of possibly playing in the B1G or SEC as opposed to the boringness of the PAC-12 schedule? Do I want to be a star of the USC vs. Ohio State game on CBS with a nationwide audience or do I want to be the star of Oregon vs. Washington State on Apple TV where no one will hear my name or see my skills except the hardcore fans with Apple TV subscriptions? I think the B1G and SEC will find ways to brand major companies as exclusive to their conferences NIL deals. Example: Toyota enters into an exclusive NIL deal with the B1G for the next x years to select 1 football player, 1 men’s basketball player, 1 women’s basketball player and 1 women’s volleyball player to exclusively represent the Toyota brand. Players TBD but will be selected exclusively from the current 16 B1G schools. You think all the major corporations wouldn’t line up to do this with either the B1G or SEC? It makes too much sense.
  7. UCLA is not coming back. It's time for everyone to move on. The next time we play UCLA will be as conference rivals in the B1G.
  8. Pac-12 Hotline: Revenue projections for FY2023 show how Comcast mess leaves Pac-12 far behind (tucson.com)
  9. I’m not cheering for the PAC’s demise. I’m cheering for Oregon to find a way out of the PAC.
  10. SDSU has to do something by the end of the month or they are screwed. I wonder how serious the Big 12 is trying to lure the Aztecs?
  11. Big 12 expansion: Colorado could leave Pac-12; Buffaloes call executive meeting 247SPORTS.COM
  12. More people access Peacock than Apple TV. Peacock has a free version.
  13. Has the PAC repaid money to media partners for the shortened 2020 season? Or were revenues not fully paid out by media partners that year? I seen where the B1G owes money to FOX for not playing a full 12 week schedule that year due to Covid. I believe the PAC played even fewer weeks than the B1G did that year. Are we going to get yet another bill sent to us?
  14. Here is what I’m thinking…. I have not heard of this happening, but it is my best guess as to how it would play out…The SEC and B1G work with the G5 to make this happen. In exchange for their approval, the B1G and SEC agree to play a certain number of G5 games each season at an enormous payout. Maybe 2-4 million per game. If the G5 vote in line with the SEC and B1G, that’s the majority needed for this to pass. Subsidizing the G5 with massive payouts will attract their attention.
  15. The B1G 10: Why Playoff expansion (and a new format) will fuel Big Ten expansion SATURDAYTRADITION.COM Expect the Playoff to move to 12 at-large teams in 2026. That, more than anything, will lead to B1G expansion. Plus: B1G... Wasn’t sure which thread was best to post this article.
  16. I'm more interested in what the future conference schedule looks like - namely, whoever is in whatever conference the Ducks find themselves in.
  17. A merger of the PAC and ACC would still be at risk for raiding by the B1G and SEC, just like they are now as separate conferences. If we go back to posts from last summer, we were criticizing USC and UCLA for all of the travel they would put their student athletes through. A B1G and ACC merger would have schools even further apart than USC and UCLA are from most B1G schools. The PAC would probably have to agree to be a part of the current ACC grant of rights that lasts through 2036. Not sure that is in the best interests of Oregon. All of the teams in the ACC we would get excited about playing will likely bolt the conference the first chance they get. As would we.
  18. Even if this is accurate, I don’t like the part about having to do this all over again in five years. I’m done with the drama. Whatever is going to happen, I just want it to happen and be done with it.
  19. I don’t think Stanford and Cal will be a part of a PAC12 Big12 merger. I could see them going independent in this scenario if the B1G doesn’t want them.
  20. I’m curious as to why NBC wanted the PSU @ MSU game played at Ford Field rather than at MSU? Will that really have an impact on ratings for the game? I always assumed the money gained from neutral sight games came from ticket sales, not tv viewership.
  21. One thing about expansion….especially with the B1G, there is no public information about it until it happens. On the morning of June 30, 2022, we woke up with no indication that USC and UCLA were even considering leaving the conference. Within a few short hours, news broke that it was imminent, the B1G voted to add them, and each school voted to formally accept admission into the B1G. This all happened within a few short hours. Granted, talks happened for months behind the scenes. And Greg Flugaur posted about USC joining the B1G months before it happened. But there were no indications his statements were any different than others who randomly post things online. If the PAC starts losing more teams, I won’t be surprised. Since the day the ten remaining schools issued that joint statement of unity and commitment to the conference, I have never felt like this would end well for the conference. I do feel confident that Oregon will have a home in the B1G sooner or later. It just might not be at the same time as USC and UCLA.
  22. I think I remember reading the Big 12 has a clause in their contract with ESPN regarding the addition of teams. Not sure about FOX though.
  23. Here is this guy posting again… SW AIM SHOW@GSw aim · 10m There was an informal meeting with #Big12 execs on Wednesday and the BIG PLAN is for twenty teams with four West of the Rockies and four in the EST time zone. And told "A lot will happen in June." #BuckleUp!!
  24. The conspiracy theorist in me wants to believe that ESPN does want the PAC 12 to lose teams. It wants the 4 corners and maybe SDSU in the Big 12 and have the Big 12 be the After Dark games. SDSU not in the PAC 12 yet leads me to believe one of two things…. 1. SDSU fears the PAC will lose teams and is weighing the possibility of joining the Big 12 instead. Or, 2. Some in the PAC may not want to invite new members because of their own personal agendas, similar to USC stopping the invitation of several Big 12 schools to join the PAC in 2021.
