Charles, this response made my month. I had the ChileDuck list bookmarked since the beginning of time and one day it was not there. This sucked on a new level due to the fact that all other sources (Cough cough GODUCKS.com) were super glitchy and slow. I assumed that Chile left New Mexico State (which was in the address), and decided to bag the page. Now this comes along and BOOM, I’m back to cooking with heat. I can’t properly express my gratitude.

I miss having one huge signing day. It seems to me that all this early day accomplishes is creating an avenue for verbals to hold up their chosen schools for more money. I'm old, and I have spoken. Gone are the days of taking the day off, cranking up the computer at 0300, and hitting "refresh" 1500 times throughout the day. Remember DeAnothony's day? That was huge. Today we will just be disappointed by verbals waiting to sign. This sucks.

The new rivalries are not just for OBD!!!!! OAC now has a burgeoning blood feud with the dreaded USU Aggies. Television executives worldwide are feverishly scheming ways to land this gem of a battle. A true ‘tear down the goal posts’ game with the coveted Gary Andersen “Red butt” trophy presented to the loser. “This is what real college football is all about”

I agree. It was a fun spectacle to witness. I watched the whole thing. It was like watching two disease-ridden alley cats fight to the death over a dead rat. Very entertaining. The whole OAC look on game day is just cringey. Empty seats in a bandbox, the whole chainsaw thing, the look of desperation in the stadium graphics and customer’s faces, and an ultra weak “storm the field, we beat our buddy who does not like us” maneuver just made me laugh. They are having a tough go of it coming to grips with their lot in life. I am so amused that they have gone from an upper half team in a power conference to getting blown out by the dregs in a G5 conference in less than a year. They are what they are: a bottom feeder that will occasionally get lucky only to have coaches and players immediately bolt. It is time the fans realize that no matter the level of competition, they are who they are. They could land in the weakest conference there is and in one year be losing to the worst teams. UMass and New Mexico State are their peers. Of course, this is all due to the unethical maneuvers of “hole”. OAC football needs to die. I beg them to follow the Santa Clara model of eliminating football and embracing basketball and a few other sports. Every Oregonian should hope this happens before all the fun and free money is gone and the taxpayers have to keep this alley cat alive.

How hot must Wilcox’s seat be?

Just wait for the taxpayer bailouts that are coming. Seems to me that OAC will, after paying the exit fees for the WAC crap they are getting in bed with, not have the money to "fund at a P4 level" any more. How much do they owe on beandip arena and long-term P4 level coaching contracts? Just wait for it. It will come.

A little reminder for you young’ens. I will go to my grave knowing that this 2010 game was one of the finest I have ever witnessed. Uncle Cliffy returning that kick when it was obvious we were struggling moving the ball was a great moment. This highlight video does not show the final ground and pound drive ending in a knee majesty like I would like, but it sort of works. Tedford was a thorn in the side back then.

I really hate being a resident old guy but that game at Cal was great. Chip’s FU clock-eating 3 yards and a cloud of dust drive to end that game was fantastic. I loved that game.

Is it just me or does anybody else think that Gernorris Wilson is going to be a sure fire fan favorite in the coming years? There always seems to be one on the OL - JPJ, Sewell, Grasu, Forsyth. This guy is big, is getting trusted with stuff early in his career, and seems like a really great interview. My money is on him becoming a “face” of the program. We really don’t have a big man “face” right now. Maybe Ajani, maybe Burch, but we need a big ol’ turd like JPJ was. Me thinks Gernorris potentially is that guy.

The best game of the day was OAC playing BYE at home. A whole additional week for the feeble beavs to stew in their own juices after the epic beat down last week. Oh, and watch their master beat last year’s national champion on the road as the #1 team in the nation. Boo hoo

Wasn't there some kind of HUGE problem with a young lady, who is now an advocate against sexual misconduct on a national level, getting mishandled during the Riley administration? I don't know the specifics, but wasn't there some kind of incident? Of course these are small problems when compared with the horrible 12th man call by DL and staff. The nation also has it wrong. It was not a great coaching move, it was a face slap to dignity and all that is right. God bless these idiots. Benny's Room is a must read. Obviously Martinez is much more upstanding than Uncle Cliffy.
