  1. I take it you never attended a Far West Classic in the 80’s. That was before the internet. The hatred goes back a while.
  2. Write it down now: 9000-10000 seasons tickets will be sold for the 2024 season. That is all. The only reason it is not 6000-7000 is because Oregon is bending over backwards to give them an additional home game. The real comedy will be the 2025 season ticket sales. I look forward to that figure without the Ducks propping up the number and coming off a 4-8 season in the MWC.
  3. Agree. Shelstad is such a breath of fresh air with great talent and, by all accounts, a motor and attitude. Evans looks like he is giving it his all, too. And Dana the Witch Doctor is coaching and acting like this might be his last go-around. We need to monitor this IMO. I really feel the world is right when he is on the sidelines. Losing him would not be optimal.
  4. Wait…….whaaaaaa? Is he sniffing around? Did I miss something? Feel free to delete this if it is common knowledge and I just suck at news.
  5. OAC strikes again. By all means please continue to feel sorry for them. When are we going to grow up? We do not stand a chance in another conference with this lack of testosterone on the admin and fan level. Pay OAC the out fee and be rid of them. Now, please.
  6. OAC has a grueling WCC schedule to prepare for soon. I say that is a mission accomplishment. Over time Oregon will completely win the hearts and minds of the state, Autzen will be filled with 67500 butts, and Parker Stadium will be used for graduations and livestock shows. And Ralph Miller will be that much further in the rear view mirror.
  7. Why does their existence matter to us? It certainly does not matter to me. Yes, we would do the same thing, so would UW, ASU, USC. The 10 heading to other conferences did their legwork prior to this summer and had outs. No doubt in my mind that if there was no Big-10 invite we would be headed to the Big-12 or like. We had our poop in a pile. We made ourselves marketable. We are a producer, not a user. OAC? Not so much. This money/lawsuit thing does not blow my skirt up in the least, but I have to question the mindset of the Oregon power brokers who bend over backwards to schedule poor little OAC at beandip arena and cancel a legit Texas Tech visit to Eugene. Absolutely stupid move. All the while they are planning to take our money for themselves. More power to them, I quess. Just don't reward the action with a Civil War that has little upside for us and gives them their biggest payday of the season.
  8. I love it when the heroes of snowflakes bite them on the tush. Lets get out of this OAC pity now. Please.
  9. First of all, congrats to him. He is the top center in college football, but he is a lot more than a faceless player on the field. As my late father used to say, “that guy has a turd in each hip pocket”. He would use that description for anyone who was very comfortable in their own skin. JPJ is that kind of guy. My dad would have loved his interviews: no pretense, no ego, no lack of things to say, just the facts with a sprinkle of goofy and always right down the company line. His athletic talents and stick-to-it-ness are the reason he won the award, but I have to think that his personality and ease in his surroundings played a part too.
  10. The only logical reason for this absolutely stupid idea would be pressure coming from above. The state? Boosters? It has to be. In what world is it a good idea to cancel a power conference team (who we have already completed the away portion of the "home and away") at home to go play at Reser arena? I really want to believe that Mullins want to never play OAC again. Those above him might have other ideas. I am starting to doubt that Oregon can handle success.
  11. Wait, is this legit? I so, next up is that OAC running back?
  12. Relax. We had a fantastic year that will end with a great bowl game win or lose. I hate UW, but I respect them and their coach. In my currently calm state I would be pissed, but not really mad at a hard fought loss. But: losing last Friday would have resulted in me being banned from this board, having to sleep on the couch, and possibly going to jail for one reason or another. Watching the aftermath of the suitcase nuke detonation in Corvallis this past weekend has made me really see how great life is.
  13. But Charles…….. What about the children? Don’t you think a strong OAC helps the Ducks? The state? We all had friends that went to OAC. They deserve better. boo hoo boo hoo It is past the time that these light-weight snowflake Duck fans grow a pair, put on their glasses, and look around. OAC is a leach. They are not a rival or some kind of partner/brother. They are a weight around our neck. We have one rival. To be a rival one must have respect for them. Anybody not respect our opponent this coming week? I hope not. At least they are taking the fight legally to the Pac2
  14. Ok, that data makes me feel better. I was so frustrated throughout the game that we could never (except the last 48 seconds of the first half) really pour the coal. I wanted a 30+ point win. Spoiled? Yes, yes I am. I just feel that somehow we will get dinged for only scoring 31. The 7 we gave up will be explained away by OAC having “injuries”, Ohio State and Michigan along with Alabama and Georgia will play very tight games “for the ages”, and just like that we win the Pac and end up playing Ole Miss in the NY6 version of the weed eater bowl. But….but…..but….SEC! BIG TEN! Texas! We can’t get out of this conference fast enough. OAC really did screw us one last time just due to them being OAC. People will wake up this morning on the east coast and see the #6 team beat some chump team by 3 TD’s, not a high level traditional SEC or Big Ten rival. Oregon State? They have a football team? Well, they must just be a one year wonder of course. The Pac is always soooooo weak. Rinse and repeat next weekend.
  15. Amen. I just read that Texas Tech is “working” with us by potentially traveling to Wazzu instead of Eugene, allowing us to play OAC. If this is true I will be beyond mad. On what planet is this a good deal for the Ducks? I would imagine that our admin will also allow this potential game to be played at Reser Arena. This is so stinking weak if true. I am starting to get worried about the weak-spined faction of our fan base and admin having too big of a voice. We need to start acting like a top level program. The first step is to stand by and watch OAC’s athletic future evaporate. That dump has nothing to give us yet we appear to be bending over backwards for them while crying and saying we are sorry. Please take our money OAC. You deserve it sooooo much. We are Oregonians first. What a load of pig excrement.
  16. No need to be salty today. We have already won biggly and OAC has been permanently ruined. The mission has already been accomplished. Here’s to never having to play that horrid program again. Do you feel me Mr. Mullins? They offer nothing. There is zero future upside. I do wish I would have had the foresight to commission a billboard on the northbound side of I-5 at, say, the Brownsville exit welcoming all orange-wearing Civil War attendees to the watered down Mountain West Conference. Enjoy your trip to Albuquerque. Don’t forget your chainsaw. Go Lobos.
  17. I like Thanksgiving. I hate Thanksgiving I like it because of gathering family and giving thanks for abundant blessings. Yay Thanksgiving. I hate Thanksgiving because of the yearly stoppage of relevant message board activity for 3 days. No news. No opinions. No love. No hate. Just a desert of inactivity with a few holiday greetings sprinkled in. Boo Thanksgiving. We are in the middle of the juiciest time of year: meaningful games, playoff fights, COACHES MOVING, hating the SEC, and peeing in stadium concourses. We need a constant flow mainlined straight to the biggest vein, not Nurse Ratchett monitoring our morphine. This year’s Thanksgiving menu: Sides: cranberry sauce (aka what is going on with Chip) green beans with mushroom soup goo (sure glad we went to Tempe and not Tucson) stuffing (Civil War - really good or really bad) Bird Course: turkey leg (JS to MSU. A lock? Super funny and happening at the perfect time) Main Course: Prime Rib (KDB will announce he is headed to A&M right after their loss to the Ducks) - extra yummy.
  18. It appears that their running back has stated that he is returning next year. Would he do that unless he knew the staff would remain? Ever notice that JS looks just like GRU from the Minions?
  19. Nothing compares to the 2008 Jerimiah Johnson beat down of "Rose Bowl bound" OAC in the freshly-named Reser Rodeo Arena. At age 59, and having seen every (and remembering most) Civil War games since the early-ish 70's, that game was soooooooo gooooooood. I was sitting on my couch in suburban Washington, DC that night laughing. Laughing more than I have laughed before or since. Masoli, Jerimiah Johnson, Blount, Boyett. These guys do not get enough run in modern day discussions among Duck fans. In a lot of ways these guys were the OG's of the program we enjoy today. What a final conference game for the OG of the OG's: Coach MB. Chip had a small part in that triumph too. This game surpasses the Wisconsin Rose Bowl, the Colorado Fiesta, and the Florida State RB IMO. Sheer joy.
  20. Ding, ding, ding. This is nothing but cowering to the bleeding hearts. We have a program that will, after so many years, twist the knife. How about some guts from the higher ups now? Political pressure? FEBU Public optics? FEBU Caring about others? FEBU We get nothing out of a dropping of Boise and an addition of OAC. We are fighting for fans. As a fan, wouldn't you rather begin to square the ledger with Boise. OAC does not even have a conference. Who, besides their fans, gives a hoot about them. The media has spoken, now we must. I do hope that these bleeding heart Duck fans start to realize the gift we have before us, accept it, and fight like hell to keep it. Step one: relegate OAC to the dust bin.
  21. My favorite so far. Using the O’Jays in the soundtrack was very cool. Great tune. Kudos to the brains behind these productions. The debut of these things are becoming the best part of the week IMO. Someone please enlighten me with the meaning of FEBU.
  22. “Don’t even go the Phil Knight direction; he did not help until Oregon went to the Rose Bowl, and Cotton Bowl first without him.” I rarely comment on articles written/posted here. But I will now. Bravo X 10. that is all
