  1. You're right, so Novosad would be presumably 3rd string heading into next season.
  2. It does raise questions for the upcoming season. If Moga bails then it's just Gabriel, Moore, and a walk-on QB. That's a pretty thin sheet of ice...
  3. Bedford mostly payed RG last season, the Oklahoma kid plays primarily LG. Could be a good duo next season if DL can get them both!
  4. This one is interesting. He certainly has the size we need...his stats are gaudy but they're against division II competition so that needs to be taken with a grain of salt. I couldn't find profiles of him on 247 or Rivals, I wonder what happened and why he didn't get into a Power 5 program out of high school?
  5. I really hope DL is able to reel in Walter Nolan. With all the big guys leaving from the defensive line, we could really use him to help shore things up.
  6. If DL and WS see something in him and think he could develop well then bring him aboard. But it would have to be either him or Moore, not both.
  7. He's apparently a very good inside lineman, particularly at left guard. One of the few spots the Oregon coule improve on a bit is rush blocking.
  8. Definitely. I think he would show improvement under Stein like TT did (or even at a faster rate). I don't know who Chip Kelly has on his staff but when he was at Oregon he was certainly helped out on QB development by Helfrich and Scott Frost.
  9. Should he sign Oregon it will be interesting to see how he acclimates. Stein's offense is always marketed as "quarterback friendly"...if Moore does better in Eugene that might reflect that either Moore/Kelly offense was a bad fit or Kelly's Bruin offense may not be as good as advertised.
  10. If that is true, that's a very interesting 180 since last season with him chasing after starter minutes right out of school. I suppose taking so many lumps in that experience may have made him realize he needed more time than jumping straight into the deep end. If he does commit, that does plug up a gaping hole in the QB room...as much as I like Novasad I don't think he's ready for real playing time should Gabriel go down with an injury. Moore would have just enough for Oregon to survive a few games in that scenario. The burning question for me is if Moore decides to come to Eugene, how does that affect the recruitment of Akili Smith Jr.?
  11. Very cool, that's big of Bucky to still participate! I hope he's fully healed up by January 1st. He was likely hiding an injury for the Pac12 championship as he definitely not his normal self in that game.
  12. That kind of size demands two linemen to keep him in check. Book'em Dano!
  13. That sucks. He's got the prototypical size we would've needed at RB going into the B10. I think Noah Whittington getting injured and announcing that he's returning next season probably was a factor as well.
  14. TT was really more a victim of circumstance. The college football world for high end programs is always in a "win now" mode. That means if your number is called you better be ready to show the coaches you can do the job well. But TT's development was hampered by Cristobal, mainly because he just doesn't care (or is exceedingly bad) about developing QBs. So that put him 2 years behind what you expect his skillset should have developed to be. Throw in on top of that Bo transferring in and becoming the QB that he is now, there was no chance to start at all...though he did start getting more on field time since Oregon blew out more teams during the past 2 seasons than Cristobal did in his entire tenure at Oregon. He was clearly improving under Dillingham and Stein, just not enough to make him the best option going foward. IMHO I think his best choice right now is actually to head over to Corvallis, where I presume they're going to stick with a pro-style offense similar to what Jonathan Smith was running. He can hone his skills against MWC opponents for a year then transfer to a P4 school for his final season.
  15. Oh boy, if that happens break out the popcorn!
  16. After Gabriel committed I think we all expected this. I wish him well and hope he lands at a good place where he can finally get some playing time.
  17. Dillon Gabriel and Walter Nolan are the two biggest priorities right now. Seems like there's a distinct possibility both will commit to Oregon this weekend.
  18. True but he's also taking another S&C assistant with him as well.
  19. Darn you Jeff! Oregon reportedly losing key support staffer to SEC program SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM Oregon is losing one of its top sports performance assistants to an SEC program.
  20. This one IMHO is quietly important. We need a replacement for Evan Bennett and Andrew could be it.
  21. Given CU's inability to develop quite literally any of the OL this season it'll be interesting to see what happens with him.
  22. I surmise that Moore really means that wants to be developed *while* he starts...so I doubt he'll come to Oregon to sit behind Gabriel. OBD bringing in just Gabriel is the most likely scenario, I just don't know if TT will stick around for that at this point. Feels like a 50/50 shot he'll go into the portal and Novasad becomes QB2 by default.
  23. Evidently development is not high on this kid's list of priorities. Good luck to him.
  24. Well deserved, LaMichael was an absolute beast on the field!
  25. Yeah, it was a rather quiet exit, easy to miss.
