  1. What did I say in the perception topic? We weren't good, OSU was bad, that's why they lost. Denzel Burke didn't get beat/outplayed, he just played bad and needs to do better. I think the OSU locker room knows what happened. They played a team that was superior to them at times, and often enough to beat them.
  2. OMG check out the box score. The stats are the most even I've ever seen in a game. A tip of the cap to Ohio State for the uphill battle against the environment, the travel and the game time, that they came to play right out of the gate. BTW did DL grow or what? He trusted his D and kicked a field goal from one yard out.
  3. Yep I didn't think we could win tbh. Amazing game. I was okay with losing a close one, but this win should get us into the playoffs one way or another. Everything about this game was unexpected. Offensive pass interference on #4 was the last thing I was expecting. He was rag dolling our dbs all night, but they finally called one at the most inopportune time. Howard threw better than Gabriel. Not what I expected. So many not what I expected things. What a game.
  4. USC is at home too. That doesn't bode well for our game. Expect tOSU to get the vast majority of the debatable calls going their way as the crowned jewel of the legacy B1G this year.
  5. Let's all be grateful to be relevant and having college game day at our campus. Let's enjoy the game for what it is, win or lose there should be some rare, phenomenal displays of talent from both teams. Go Ducks, make us proud!
  6. Dilly Dilly is 5 and 1 knocking off a Utah with a bad QB. Marcus Arroyo under a Head Coach that actually likes to score points,
  7. tOSU 31-24 3 t.o. 2 sacks 224 passing yards. We'll see..
  8. His nickname on the team was 12 Gauge, because he wore #12 and had a shotgun for an arm. Could throw 50 yards on his knees.
  9. Perception presumes a lack of knowledge, and a lack of knowledge breeds belief, and people choose to believe what they want to believe. So no, I don't think winning will improve people's perception of the Ducks, it will just prove to those people that Ohio State was overrated and Day sucks and should probably be fired. I just read a headline that basically said that. Winning a few playoff games and especially a Natty will be what actually changes perceptions of Oregon by force. But I'm okay with that. I don't need confirmation from people that don't know what they are talking about. And our Oregon team touts FEBU, so I don't think they care much either.
  10. I'd be thrilled if we didn't get out coached on our halftime adjustments this game.
  11. Ohio State players will feel like they are on another planet in Autzen. The air is different from the Midwest, the sound will be vibrating their eyeballs, and the 7:45pm start time will make them slightly groggy..
  12. A perfectly executed offensive pass play cannot be stopped by perfectly executed defensive play, all else, including talent, being equal. If we can make this game come down to Howard vs. Gabriel we'll win.
  13. So that's as good as it gets for them. It's great for them they are on the CW and not a streaming service.
  14. Before the start of the season Josh Pate had Autzen in his list of loudest Stadiums he has been in, but not the top. He said part of the reason it wasn't at the top is he was there for a mediocre game, and said it was subject to revision after he goes to the OSU game, which is now here. I hope he brought his earplugs.
  15. My guess is 50% are not UO or MSU fans that just want want to watch a relevant game on Friday night.
  16. I expect the ducks come to play, all lit up like they were against Colorado last year. Fully locked in and executing at a high level. My biggest fear is if we build a 14+ point lead at any point and take our foot off the gas mentality and with play calling. I really don't want to see a Cal-Miami type of scenario. That is my worst case.
  17. While it seems like another close loss is the worst outcome where Oregon is viewed as the team not capable of winning the big games, I think it's probably the best case scenario. Even if this season ends up a total redo of last year and we run the table afterwards in conference and lose to OSU in the B1G champ game close, this year we get into the playoffs while having experienced the adversity that forced the team to grow more than they would have if they'd beat OSU in the regular season, improving our chances to make a deep playoff run. That being said, if we are the better team Saturday let's win it!
  18. I saw Jeremiah Smiths one handed TD catch last week. The reason he could only use one hand to catch was because the other hand was busily attached to the CB with arm fully extended. The refs had the angle and saw it clearly. In the NFL full extension push off like that is offensive pass interference. But it won't be called when JS is making one handed catches apparently. I'm definitely worried about that, because it makes the play undefendable even without a perfect pass.
  19. I think it's OSU's front 7. Look how rough it has been to be efficient when we weren't able to run the ball or have time to pass in the first 6 quarters of the season.
  20. If OSU loses they drop 3-4 spots. If the Ducks lose they drop 5-7 spots. Confirmation bias and all.
  21. I don't think Texas is better than Georgia or OSU on a neutral field. They are still after glowing from beating down a mid UM team, that beat a mid USC team that beat a mid LSU team. I realize the season is nearly half over but still a lot of games are required to see who can reach the highest ceiling. My poll is: tOSU Georgia Texas Alabama Oregon Penn State Tennessee Clemson Miami Irrelevant
  22. Is the ACC stupid? They have their highest ranked team playing across the country starting at 10:15pm their time? Anyways. Hear me out, there was a presumption at the beginning of the year that Michigan and LSU were pretty good, which made USC and Texas get really elevated in ranking. Now we see that LSU and Michigan are average at best. Poll voters definitely have some soul searching to do over the next 12 hours.
  23. Bo to Dan. "Coach, I know someone I think might be able to help us" In retrospect that may have been a little bit of an understatement.
  24. Michigan getting beat 14-0 by UW early. Michigan finding out that playing out west against dynamic offenses is hard. New UM QB Tuttle playing for the first time for UM because he was injured in preseason. Looks like he has the brains to open up the offense and be efficient. VERY INTERESTING DEVELOPMENT. And now they score. Hmm.
  25. This. But it's quite possible they do put it together. There will be no lack of focus at any point in this game by anyone. This is one of the most hyped games of the year. The last time we played a game this hyped was against Colorado, and look how that went until we were beating them so bad our players lost interest. One of the differences between Bo and Dillon is the mental game. Bo was always at his best when he was comfortable. Dillon has thrived under pressure. I expect to see Dillon's best next week including some effective running when necessary. I hope tOSU players come in cocky, but I think Kelly will make sure they don't underestimate how hard this game will be.
