  1. Agreed. If it isn't working, then change it. 3 and out of 6 and out accomplishes nothing that early in a game.
  2. I feel we've lost a lot without Tez. I think it affected Gabriel quite a bit to not have a safety blanket that can get open at will, and cost us somewhere between 3 and 10 points, which I expect to continue until he returns. And it was Lowe that moved to the slot for the most part which allowed Holden back in full time out wide. I love Lowe, but he is merely great while Tez is the most efficient WR in the country, and truly elite.
  3. Mario used to do the same thing trying to coast for a full half. DL wasn't like this previous years where he cared most about winning the middle 8 minutes of the game, which included putting up a lot of points in the first drives of the 3rd quarter. Players coming out flat is a very real thing too. My son's U14 soccer team did just that yesterday too. It's physiological, and they need to get it figured out with the on staff sports science and sports psychology staff.
  4. This is my presumption. Unfortunately it could be the difference between winning and losing the conference championship against Ohio State. It's a huge loss. Some of those 3 and outs yesterday don't happen if Tez is on the field instead of Lowe.
  5. The pass was not caught. Yes it was touching his upper forearm at the same time it was touching the ground, but not even Evan can control a ball with just a forearm. I thought the angle from behind was the best that showed the ball contact the ground with velocity. With regards to the intelligible man down field, it was called against Harper at the top of the screen who did drift down field farthest at the point in time the ball was released. The video does not give a clear shot of where the ball was snapped from, but my guess would be the first hash after the five yard increment line, and it appears Harper was just shy of five yards from that. Is the call like a QB passing beyond the line of scrimmage where their whole body must be past it, or is it any part of their body past it or some approximation of their center of body past it? It sure seems like the ref was trigger happy. Could have been a make up call for the earlier missed call.
  6. A&M didn't show up. Pate saw this coming though, so tip of the cap to him. How ya like that parity SEC? Having fun yet?
  7. It's definitely giving me Mario Cristobal vibes that we build up a big lead in the first half, then go into a shell waiting for the game to end. I can't figure out what it is though. Are we changing, or are the other team's adjustments really working?
  8. Their QB is definitely putting it together which is making a significant difference. You saw how it started to open up their running game some in the second half. He made some beautiful the throws you have to tip your cap to.
  9. 44-6 Ducks 3 takeaways 3 sacks 326 passing yards Michigan D is decent in the red zone and with an O that can't score I see DL taking field goals on 4th downs early. Michigan's punter sucks, and their ability to play error free football is still highly suspect after 1 clean game, so I picked 44 instead of 37, and 6 instead of 9 or 13.
  10. SDSU made a conscious decision to not let Jenty beat them, so the BSU OC decided to light them up through the air. I thought BSU had a very good passing attack when we played them, and it really showed up last night. They keep winning convincingly and will continue to move up in the polls. Is there even a close group of 5 competitor left?
  11. "35 One-Score games in a row lost by the Cornhuskers." That is almost statistically impossible without human intervention and intent. Does the Oracle of Omaha or other local Berkshire Hathaway buddies have a vendetta against the Huskies, paying players and coaches sums of money they can't refuse to throw the games when they are close?
  12. SDSU is not good this year. This game will not be interesting past the 1st quarter with the exception of the Heisman hopeful human highlight reel Jenty.
  13. No, I don't think this is the best ever yet, and unless we beat 2019 stats by a mile, I won't believe we are better. I'm not budging from my position that B1G defenses are good because their offenses are bad. I'll add that the 2014 Defense should be top 5 merely because they got so many takeaways. Giving the ball back in a hurry to your Heisman trophy winner has to count for something.
  14. Quote from a comment on the maize and brew website: We all love Michigan, but basically the stadium is like %90 standing room only. You can barely sit without spooning the person in front of you unless you are a small child. That sounds a bit rough.
  15. Doesn't matter if they keep everything in front of them, they can't tackle in open space, so lots of yac coming right up.
  16. This. I'm even less interested in playing Ohio State 3 times in one season. I really don't want to see them again this year. With the talent they have they could beat any team in the country any Saturday. I'll also be rooting for IU to beat tOSU too, but one game at a time...
  17. Freshman thoughts: I've watch the carries Riggs had against Illinois and he has a perfect feel for the game. He has the vision, the timing and the spacing figured out at an intuitive level. In addition he has a great burst and knows how to drive through contact. He's the most natural rusher on the team from what I have seen. The only thing we didn't get to see is his ability to catch and run, which is important. I think he's going to jump Limar and Harris on the depth chart by the start of post- season. What do you think? Flowers was often the best player on the field at the high school all-star games and in the spring game he was balling out. Media though he could likely make the two-deep. Flowers has yet to play a single snap even in garbage time. He's not on the injured list. What is going on?
  18. I said it before in another thread, I think it will be Mike Elko for A&M by the end of the year. Taking the trash A&M team from last year and finishing in the SEC conference championship would do it. Of course IU doing the same in the B1G would be equally significant, it's just not quite as probable to me.
  19. At this point in the season it is Cignetti. I think by the end of the season it will be Elko. I watched the second half of A&M vs. LSU, and the QB they put in is the second coming of Dennis Dixon. He absolutely carved up LSU by land and by air. A&M is now in the driver's seat for the SEC championship game, and a playoff spot, despite being ranked below Tennessee.
  20. I saw a YouTube video of two guys that are Michigan fans, but have covered the Ducks extensively. They had a few major points. Michigan can't tackle in space and so Oregon's typically offensive scheme should have a lot of success. Also Michigan is incapable of throwing the deep pass consistently or effectively. Oregon typically takes a nothing over the top approach, but perhaps being more aggressive in the short pass game will be the better approach and has the secondary effect of loading the box against the run.
  21. We certainly mentioned him at the beginning of the season when OL recruiting and play was in the dumps. I'm glad he has been turning it around.
  22. At least this one will work itself out when OSU and IU play each other.
  23. I've seen lots of familiar faces across the power 4...face I never wanted to see again.
  24. I think they discussed that the missed facemask ended an earlier drive for Illini, so they determined it would be the perfect make up call to pick up the flag. And it really was. They got 3 points out of it.
  25. Washington was not noteably bad for penalties under DeBoer. It's like strict St. Nick retired and DeBoer is the substitute teacher and everyone is goofing off.
