  1. It is better than the Big Ten Commissioner doing absolutely nothing, at least. More serious repercussions should come in time.
  2. Why do you want to shorten this game? Unless you think the Ducks simply aren't as good, or aren't as deep (which seems to be the complete opposite of what most think), then you should want as many possessions as possible. The more possessions there are, the more likely the truly better team will win. In a low possession game, a few (fluke?) plays have an even more dramatic impact on the outcome. They key is points per possession, rather than worrying about trying to eat up clock at the start of the game. Obviously, in certain situations (getting the last score before half, salting away a 4th quarter lead, etc.), then you can be mindful of the clock.
  3. You may be overestimating how good Thornton actually is. He was ranked as highly as he was based on his physical measurements and potential, rather than how good he actually was at the time. There is a lot more to being a good receiver beyond being big and fast. It is very possible he will never live up to his ranking.
  4. For what it is worth, I saw a mock draft yesterday that projected Troy going late in the 1st round (#31 to Kansas City). NFL mock draft 2024: Caleb Williams still ahead of Drake Maye for No. 1 WWW.USATODAY.COM Caleb Williams is still atop the latest 2024 NFL mock draft, but Drake Maye has at least mounted a push to be the No. 1 pick.
  5. Every single fan base in the country has their share of idiots. Also, if people didn't already know, Oregon is one of the most disliked teams across the Pac-12. This should come as a surprise to nobody since they have been one of the most successful teams in the Pac-12 over the past few decades. That is just the way it goes. There is virtually no team in the conference that doesn't get hyped up to beat the Ducks.
  6. I hope JPJ returns. If not, I think the most likely plan would be for Iapani “Poncho” Laloulu to take over.
  7. I have no idea if he has any sort of shot at being a professional baseball player or not. I don't pay close enough attention to that. Whichever sport provides him the best shot at earning money (if any) should probably be the one he focuses on. If neither do, then he should just do whatever he feels like. Selfishly, I care a lot more about football than baseball, so I wouldn't mind him focusing on football full time. If nothing else, he seems to have the tools to be a potentially elite special teams player, on all the units.
