  1. SEC trying desperately to maintain the illusion that, on an even playing field, they actually were that much more dominate than any other conference. When in reality they have ran a successful "ad campaign" (anchored by Paul Fawnbaum) in addition with "creative" (cheating) roster building; and the actuality of competing on an even playing field is shattering that illusion of dominance top to bottom. May not be "noble", but I am so here for it all? GO DUCKS! & The B1G!
  2. https://247sports.com/college/oregon/longformarticle/remembering-the-last-10-oregon-duck-football-signing-classes--273329912/ Kinda a cool look at recruiting the past decade. Go Ducks!
  3. Well as Dan Lanning has said, on numerous occasions, that he wants the individual success for his coaches and staff, as he does for the young men that play under his tutelage. The burgeoning coaching tree speaks highly of this approach. OBD rocks!
  4. There is NO way to sugarcoat this. This "island of misfit toys" team is by far the worst mens BB team, in regards to execution, that I have seen play for Oregon since my arrival in 1993. All the pieces are there but absolutely NO "team" in this team and I believe Dana Altman has truly Lost this locker room. (Along with his record streak of 20+ game winning seasons AND postseason play). This is a lost season and judging from DA body language and post game interviews, he seems "tired" and unsure of how to get back to where he, and the Duck BB program, used to be. Recruiting and transfers are going to dry up and in the "one n done", NIL, and now NBA players trying to go play for colleges again, I am not so sure of the current iteration of college basketball has somehow passed Dana Altman by. There is a 12,000 cap. (Very expensive) Basketball arena built for a perennial sweet sixteen contender that is averaging the lowest attendance since OBD played at the Pit. Investers in that arena will be quick to demand that OBD gets back to that level. Hate to say it but, Dana Altman may no longer be the one to accomplish that. Will keep my fingers crossed for one more season.🤞 But, this season may be the beginning of the end of Dana Altman basketball at Oregon. Go Ducks!
  5. I know it's "counter" to the norm. But, what is the "norm" in the wild wild West of NFL-Lite. I happen to really Like this approach. I seem to remember when DL was hired, that one of the changes made at the administration level was creation and hiring of several more "support" positions for the organization. OBD has more staff now more than ever before. Having the luxury of multiple co-"coordinators" allows to have a multi-year "job interview" to see how these individuals adapt and succeed in this system. Obviously these individuals that come and coach at Oregon; Are having individual success just based on the growing, albeit short, coaching tree under DL. A "BIG" name hire does Not equal guaranteed success. (Brady Hoke anyone?). And a smalltime/unknown hire, sometimes is a home run! (Chip Kelly/Dan Lanning per example). If this transition goes smoothly and the Ducks don't miss a beat then you might just see this approach, mimicked, by other top programs in the country. Ten-Win Dan has my confidence and hope for this program at an all time high! So, until I see "epic season fails" (and NO I do Not see the past two losses in the playoffs as "epic fails"...not even close, but that's another discussion), I shall stand by "In Dan We Trust". Oregon Ducks Football ROCKS! 😁
  6. Autzen ZooOregon 2026 football schedule released, with a couple of...The Ducks have a single bye in 2026, finishing with eight straight games in a row. The bye comes October 3rd after a September 26 road tilt at USC.Seems more difficult than this years was. But, then again, OBD should be a whole lot better next year, so up for the challenge.
  7. Wwwhhhaaaatttttt??? "Common Sense" in the new free-for-all, Wild West, Bizzarro World, profit driven, ego centric NFL-Lite????? Surely you Jest!
  8. I'm definitely NO expert but this is the Smartest choice Dante could have made, solely based on his body of work. Glad to have you senor', glad to have you. GO DUCKS!
  9. Well. One shoe dropped....waiting for the other. Good Luck Dillon. Thanks for being a Duck!
  10. Well, apparently, we are going to have to do it WITHOUT A running game! ARRGHHH!!!! Dante...hope you got some pretty wide and strong shoulders capable of "carrying" a team! GO DUCKS!
  11. OREGON WINS! 24-23 (Sappington hits the "game winner" on Ducks last possession) 2 T.O. 2 SKS. 234 Pass Yds On Whittingtons career day! Now let's go get that NATTY!
  12. The "inconvenience and frustrations" are part of the point. NFL-Lite knows where it wants to go and having the "masses" scream and cry out for the very changes they want to make is preferable to having to "fight" what for what you want to get, but with significant obstacles standing in your way. Let the frustrations...simmer...to Piss off enough people, and they will give you what you want to alleviate whatever is piss'n em off. Standard human ploy been used since mankind first started cooperating together for common goals. We have been witnessing this in college athletics for most of this century. The rules, standards, and traditions, especially in the sports of football and basketball, are completely night and day from what athletes, coaches, and administrations built their programs and infrastructure around pre 2000's. Give it a few more years, but no later than mid 2030's (still have annoying pre NFL-lite TV contracts to burn through) and we will probably see a 16-24 team playoff, no conference title games (unless integrated into the playoffs in some way), maximum of 10 -12 days "off" for Any playoff teams, NCG being played NLT the second weekend on January, and the transfer portal aligned better to allow all teams, playoffs or not, be on equal footing with each other for the same portal window and coaching carousel. I for one am not crazy about it but also something I have no personal control over, so it will be whatever it will be. Just hope that OBD can remain the oddball program that somehow keeps its (duck)head and values about itself and continues to try to stay above the "fray" going on all around college athletics. GO DUCKS!
  13. Ten years...heck even just five years ago moving on to the NFL-Heavy as soon as you could possibly get drafted, was the goal. Grab that "💰 bag" before...you couldn't, or had to "settle" for a smaller bag o 💰. NIL has significantly changed this mantra. Dante, his family, and even his agent have all spoke to the "positive" of Dante coming back for another year. So the advantage of returning is definitely part of the discussions regarding his future. I also believe this to be his best path for long-term football success. Apparently top QB's in NFL-LITE are now making money similar to rookie contract for similar positions in the NFL-HEAVY. (starting to step on some toes in the league?? Careful NFL-LITE!). If your being drafted by a cellar dweller in the NFL-HEAVY as the "franchise" QB, the GM's are Expecting that drafted. QB to become that exactly....right away! Dante definitely has that potential but absolutely will be closer to a franchise QB with one more year playing in the top competitive conference on the NFL-LITE, rather than being thrown to the (defensive) wolves on a crappy team in the NFL-HEAVY. Let us all hope that regardless of OBD winning its first Natty, Dante comes back for the "polish" he will need to be another Duck QB success story on the NFL-Heavy. GO DUCKS! GO DANTE, lead us to that promised (Natty) land.
  14. If so: Next Man Up! Even with portal losses...this Oregon team is deep! With the exception of Dante going down I feel fairly confident, especially our RB room, that we can "cover" any playoff injuries, better than most. GO DUCKS!
