  1. For a while under White the Softball team was like WBB, ruled the Pac-12; both are the most competitive conferences in the country. Now, Oregon has dropped a bit. But Graves will have the basketball team back on top soon enough and I am equally confident that Lombardi will do the same with the softball team. Congrats to Vallery, and she won't be the last.
  2. Since 1969 when I spent my first summer waiting for football to start in the fall, I haven't been this excited, (no Pointer Sisters this time) for football season to start. So far Lanning hasn't made a mistake yet. Doesn't mean he's perfect, but I'm fine with 99.7%
  3. The Ducks Must Win the tournament to get to the NCAA's Dana Altman opens up on the loss of Will Richardson, facing Oregon State in opening round of Pac-12 Tournament 247SPORTS.COM Inside the hallways of the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Oregon head coach Dana Altman previewed the Ducks' upcoming game...
  4. Thanks. I definitely remember the "smell of Mac Court!"
  5. This was not a losing season, and I would not want to make a knee-jerk mistake. Couldn't agree more. As Bill W says, Dana Altman should be in the hall of the fame! His string of 20 win seasons is in jeopardy, but that doesn't get a coach fired under any circumstance, particularly with the recruits coming next season.
  6. Pac-12 Men's Basketball Bracket SPORTSPAC12.COM Arizona, UCLA, USC, and Colorado earn the four First-Round byes in the Pac-12 Tournament.
  7. But it was faster than Georgia's 341 lbs, DT Jordan Davis, who ran 4.78
  8. Future Duck Tyrone Williams led Division 1 JUCO basketball in points per game 247SPORTS.COM Future Oregon Duck men's basketball player Tyrone Williams has finished up his junior college career at Grayson College in Texas...
  9. No slight to KenPom but his odds for winning games, the tournament go right along with the standings, so not really seeing much from his analysis.
  10. It's a small chance but it's better than ASU, Stanford, Utah, Washington, WSU or Oregon State have. KenPom gives Oregon Ducks 2.1 percent chance of winning Pac-12 title DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Oregon Ducks are in an unfavorable position heading into the Pac-12 tournament and four straight must win games ahead of...
  11. Pac-12 Football: Does QB Cameron Ward make Washington State a threat? DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Washington State’s new QB Cameron Ward will be thrilling to watch. Will he be enough to threaten Oregon’s supremacy in the...
  12. Nyara Sabally named to the Pac-12 All-Tournament Team DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Nyara Sabally averaged a double-double and was named to the Pac-12 All-Tournament Team.
  13. Not breaking any news here, but the farther KT falls in the draft the better for his career. Let Jacksonville make somebody else a misbegotten No.1, and Detroit has done enough damage to Ducks, they can have Hutchinson from Michigan, The Giants have two picks, 5 and 7, KT would like the Big Apple, and tbe Giants could be competitive next season. Of course, maybe the WORD is out on KT so strong that he falls completely out of the top 10 and finds himself on a good team.
  14. Fun to think what Justin could have done at Oregon had either of those been his coach.
  15. I completely understand and appreciate what you said, and Walton certainly does draw attention to himself. But somehow with him, it doesn't bother me during a game he's doing. In contrast to Bill, I offer fellow Bruin, Don MacLean. MacLean is very adept at telling us what happened, "He can make that shot" and what needs to happen, "Time is running out, (team) is behind and can't keep trading baskets, they need to get some stops." How and why? 'They scored more points and won the game,"
  16. Including bases loaded in the 8th. Ouch.
  17. It was indeed, and UCLA won the championship 3 years in a row with him anyway.
  18. Thanks for finding this, Annie. Any chance to go back to 1994 and "Gang Green" is welcomed. That was quite a game for Schmidt against ASU. If Lanning and his D can match and maybe even surpass that defense, we will all be thrilled.
  19. Mudslide, thanks very much for that breakdown and analysis, I'm in agreement that more than "working harder" is, was needed for this team. They won some big games, but more often lost, were blown out in games where they showed little resistance. There didn't ever seem to be an adjustment in game or overall. They were embarrassed by BYU and beat UCLA twice. In the same weekend they take No.3 Arizona to the end, then lose for the second time to ASU. But the way they played, schemed didn't appear to be different in either game. There was a common cry about the Ducks Final 4 team, "Who's the Alpha?" Dillon Brooks, Dylan Ennis. Tyler Dorsey? They all were capable, and each hit big shots. In his senior year, Pritchard did carry the load, last season Duarte' and Omoruyi were both big shot ready. This season the Ducks don't have the big shot player
